This page is for Blueberries, a magic petal. For the normal petal variants, see Grapes or Peas.

Blueberries are a magic petal from florr.io. They consist of four smaller Blueberry petals that split and travel in a straight line when triggered with a left or a right click. Each Blueberry also discharge lightning once they hit an enemy. Blueberries are dropped by Centipedes, Evil Centipedes and Mantises.

Appearance[]

Blueberries, for the most part, are based off Grapes and Peas: they consist of four small circular petals, while being arranged in a square-like formation with a slight overlap and a small empty space in the center. However, the difference in appearance comes with Blueberries' color palette: a cyan body with a blue corner, matching Mana Orb's colors, indicating that it's a magic petal.

Function[]

Note: The "A + B" respawn format means that the petal takes A seconds to respawn and B seconds after respawning to do its special action/have its special action enabled.

Blueberries function similarly to Peas; when you do a left or a right mouse click (offensive and defensive modes), the four smaller Blueberries split in four directions at 90 degree angles of each other. These Blueberries travel for 15 tiles until they disappear, or until they hit something, dealing damage to the entity. However, Blueberries have an unique trait: when they hit something, they will inflict lightning damage, which pierce into the enemy's Armor. Unlike Battery and Lightning's discharges, however, they won't bounce towards multiple enemies, meaning that only one enemy will be hit by each discharge. Blueberries also lack the lightning discharge animation. As long as you have Mana Points, Blueberries recharge instantly. Once triggered, you'll lose four times the Mana Points Blueberries show in its info (for example, Ultra Blueberries cost 384 MP to be triggered), as its four particles individually drain some mana. The Duplicator Talent also gives it an extra Blueberry, further denying AoE (Area of Effect) and dealing damage to more mobs at once, but costing even more Mana to trigger them. If Blueberries hit an entity while they haven't been triggered yet, they will deal only a single Blueberry's damage output.

Obtainment[]

This is a magic petal, meaning mobs only drop this if you have Mana Orb active. It replaces Grapes and Peas' drop rates.

Strategy[]

  • Blueberries are direct upgrades of Peas, and even Grapes. Not only do they deal higher damage to mobs, but their lightning traits allow Blueberries to deal the whole damage output without any Armor reduction, since lightning pierces through enemies' Armor.
  • Despite lacking certain area control as its discharges don't bounce between enemies, Blueberries still have some Area of Effect, since they're able to shoot 4 (or 5) projectiles in 4 (or 5) directions at once. Using more of them is advised as it can further control the area around you.
  • It should be noted that 2 Magic Leaves can regenerate enough mana to infinitely spam one Blueberries petal of the sama rarity. This means that a max of 4 Blueberries can be spammed while a max of 6 Magic Leaves are in your loadout.
  • Using Blueberries along with the Duplicator Talent is highly beneficial as it further increases their area control characteristic by hitting even more mobs at once. Use 3+ Blueberries for this strategy. However, beware, as it will cost even more Mana to utilize them efficiently, as each particle cost an individual amount of Mana to be shot.

Obtaining[]

  • Strategies applied for farming both Grapes and Peas should be used when farming Blueberries, as they are dropped by the same mobs. Just remember to bring Mana Orb with you, since Blueberries are magic petals.
  • After you acquire your Mana Orb, good places to farm should be Garden's Mini Spiral, Deep Spiral (for Centipede) and Jungle's Ultra mob arena (for Evil Centipede and Mantis).
  • Be careful when dealing with Mantis, as their pea projectiles can debuff your Armor a lot, leading to you taking a lot of damage at once when you're not intended to, leading to unwanted deaths.

Garden

  • Blueberries are useful tools in Garden, specially against Centipedes. Using multiple of these will allow you to hit many segments at once, allowing for more efficient petal farming.
  • Blueberries' Armor piercing trait allow you to deal more damage to something tough like a Rock mob, taking the mob out quicker.
  • Blueberries are less effective against Hornet swarms, since the projectiles will be taken out by the missiles. They are still somewhat reliable since they control a lot of area, dealing damage to a number of them, should they clump up.

Desert

  • With Blueberries' area control trait, one can use multiple of them to clear areas with a lot of mobs at once. This specially helps if there are a lot of Beetles and Scorpions aggroed on you at once, letting you hit Scorpions from afar without risking getting rammed by Beetles. Just be careful about their poisonous stingers.
  • Multiple Blueberries can also somewhat help cleaning Soldier Fire Ants from multiple Fire Ant Burrows, as they'll deal the full damage output. They're not as efficient as with Battery and Lightning strategies, however, as Blueberries' lightning discharges don't bounce between multiple close enemies.
  • Blueberries will be pretty efficient in cleaning Sandstorms due to their Armor piercing damage outputs as well as area control, without risking engaging in close combat and receiving a lot of damage from them.
  • Strategies against Centipedes in Garden should be applied to Desert Centipedes. Beware of their speed.

Ocean

  • Blueberries are good when farming Air and Bubble, as they can pierce through Bubble mob's Armor. This is useful, as ever since the mob's Armor got a buff, it's slightly tougher to kill the mob and get its drops.
  • Blueberries are also efficient against Shell mobs for the same reason: Shell mobs have a lot of Armor which can make the mob very tough to take out. Blueberries' lightning discharges will help you kill it with ease.
  • Blueberries' ranged trait will allow you to have an easier time killing Jellyfish without risking getting damaged a lot by their lightning discharges.
  • Blueberries' area control trait can let you deal with swarms of Crabs, specially in places like Crab Kingdom.

Jungle

  • As with Shell mobs in Ocean, Blueberries can pierce through Leafbugs' Armor and kill them somewhat easily, specially when you're being chased by a lot of them.
  • Strategies against Centipedes in Garden should be applied to Evil Centipedes, only that they aggro on you without you needing to hit them.
  • Blueberries might not work in Jungle, as projectiles from Mantises or Wasps might kill your projectiles without Blueberries gaining any value.

Hel

PvE[]

  • Blueberries are useful tools for cleaning Hel mobs of lower rarities due to its are control trait. Their Armor piercing projectiles further improve the strategy.
  • Hel Wasps might pose a serious threat to Blueberries, as their projectiles are numerous despite somewhat weaker, which means Hel Wasps can efficiently clean Blueberries projectiles, thus negating their power.

PvP: Using[]

  • Blueberries are not really worth it in PvP scenario. Unless the opponent is under the effect of Root, Blueberries won't need to pierce through any Armor, as flowers lack Armor by themselves. Plus, their damage output is pretty low for the average petal, as they only hit individual projectiles most of the time.
  • Another problem Blueberries carry is that they lack lightning bounces. This is specially bad if you're fighting Egg users, Stick users or if Hel mobs constantly shield the player, as you'll be even less likely to hit the flower to kill it, thus proving Blueberries ineffective.

PvP: Against[]

  • Blueberries are pretty weak. One should not have a hard time killing their projectiles, possibly negating all value Blueberries have in PvP.
  • Blueberries' Armor piercing trait won't matter, as flowers lack natural Armor. Even when using Root, it won't be much effective.
  • One can use Bone to counter Blueberries, as petals do not take lightning damage, thus, Bone's Armor won't be pierced.

Ant Hell

  • Despiste not chaining into multiple enemies, Blueberries can be good to clear out swarms of Ants in all Ant Hells.
  • Blueberries' Armor piercing trait can aid you in giving you a chance to loot Ant Hell bosses more easily, specially if there are a lot of players nearby.

Sewers

  • It's strongly advised not to use Blueberries in Sewers, as their area control will aggro a lot of Roaches to your place, which usually means death to you and anyone near.
    • However, if that's the intention (farming Roaches), then Blueberries aren't very bad petals due to their area control and Armor piercing traits.
  • Blueberries are also pretty good in hitting Moths trying to escape you.
  • Lightning won't pierce through a Fly if it manages to evade the attack.

Trivia[]

  • When first released, Blueberries' color palette was a darker blue, mimicking real-life blueberries, as well as referencing Grapes and Peas having a shape and color similar to real-life grapes and peas. Afterwards, Blueberries' color turned into a lighter blue (equal to Mana Orb's color) to indicate that it's a magic petal.
  • Blueberries are the only magic petal that don't have the shortened name of their base version or "Magic [Base Petal Name]" as their extended name. This happens because of two things:
    • Two petals can be considered Blueberries' base version (Grapes and Peas), although it can be argued that Peas are the base version since it has no special attributes;
    • The "Blueberries" pun that references Grapes and Peas.
  • Blueberries' description are also references to their base versions: the first clause ("It goes poof") is from Grapes and Peas, while the second clause ("Now with the extra secret ingredient: lightning.") is a reference to Grapes and legacy Epic and Legendary Peas as well as modern Grapes, which label "poison" as a secret ingredient, like Blueberries label "lightning" as an extra secret ingredient.
  • Blueberries are the fourth petal (and the first magic petal) based on a fruit, after Orange, Grapes and Tomato. However, this is debatable, as it is based on Peas (a vegetable).
  • Blueberries are the third petal (and the first magic petal) that discharge lightning, after Lightning and Battery. However, their discharges bounce between enemies, unlike Blueberries' discharges.
  • Much like Peas and Grapes, Blueberries deal only a projectile's damage if it hits an enemy while not triggered.
  • This is the first magic petal to have been crafted at the Super rarity, with a Super Blueberries being crafted by Mnesia.
