This page is about the petal. For the mob which shares its in-game name, see Bubble (Mob).
This page is about normal Bubble. For the magic petal variant, see Magic Bubble.

Bubble is a legacy petal from florr.io. Its function consists of propelling the player forwards when activated. Bubble is dropped by Bubble mobs.

Appearance[]

Bubble consists of a very bright shade of a transparent white. An even brighter ring surrounds the outside of the petal, as well as a lighter dot in the upper right of the petal, both having the same colors and opacity.

Function[]

Note: The "A + B" respawn format means that the petal takes A seconds to respawn and B seconds after respawning to do its special action/have its special action enabled.

Upon right-clicking your mouse (going into defensive mode), Bubble propels the player in the opposite direction of where it was (prior to popping) in relation to the flower. This effect stacks with other Bubbles, but only if they are next to each other in the build. In other words, Bubbles close together will propel the user even further, while Bubbles exactly on the opposite sides of each other will fully cancel out themselves. It also pushes the movement of other petals forward, albeit a bit delayed when compared to the flower itself. Mythic+ Bubbles have a stronger propelling distance. When Moon Rock is influencing the flower's petal orbit, it is susceptible to all Bubbles revolving around it, being treated as the flower itself and being propelled with the same velocity and direction as a flower would.

Strategies[]

  • On its own, Bubble itself lacks any offensive capabilities. Instead, it serves as a utility petal which aids in fast traveling. Many players use it to travel to zones much more quickly than normal, thus, it can also be used to rush to Ultra mob areas and Super mob spawns. Offensively, It can be used to make a quick approach on an enemy, catching them off guard and minimizing damage taken, thus, being suitable in ram builds. Another use of Bubbles is to quickly escape from any given enemy if needed.
  • Fasters are a good synergy, since, while they can make Bubble harder to aim due to a smaller time frame where the petal can propel you to your desired destination, in return, it can increase the frequency at which the desired direction is valid. A skilled player might use them together for more efficiency in Bubble propelling.
  • Using 2-3 Light and/or Pollen of Mythic+ rarity in tandem with Bubbles will clump them up together, allowing for an even bigger boost at once given you use multiple adjacent Bubbles at once. Using the Duplicator Talent is heavily advised for this strategy, as it can lead to you having to use even less Light/Pollen petals in favor of more Bubbles.
  • One of the best synergies containing Bubbles is certainly Yin Yang. It can be used to keep your Bubbles facing one direction when rapidly adding and removingYin Yang in your primary Petal loadout, which will drastically increase the frequency of Bubble's desired position, resulting in an increase in your speed. However, this requires a lot of practice (as all Yin Yang strategies are hard to master) and it is only useful with Mythic rarity or higher Bubbles.
  • Bubbles can also be used to boost the performance of ram builds, since propelling into enemies will allow you to have an easier time ramming the enemy. As such, Bubbles can be commonly found in ram builds for their performance.
    • This synergy, combined with a high rarity Powder, is essential for getting all four of the Racecar Achievements since they'll provide movement boosts enough for you to travel by the required places in under 5, 3, 2 and 1 minutes (respectively). However, it's recommended to invest points into the Reload Talent to get even shorter Bubble cooldown timers, as well as using Ultra+ Bubbles and Powders to get the latter two Racecar Achievements.
  • With well-timed firing (right after using this petal), Bubbles paired with Carrots or Missiles can be used to concentrate the Missile fire behind the user, dealing heavy damage as the user flees. This happens due to the delay between you getting propelled and the petals in your petal orbit radius following suit.
  • If the player is trying to go into defensive mode, one should take note that your currently equipped Bubbles will keep popping out while you're defending, meaning you could go in unwanted directions such as directly ramming a high body damage mob without preparing yourself, or sending yourself to swarms of dangerous mobs.
  • Bubble should not be used alongside Yucca since the latter will only activate its ability while you're in defensive mode, and, as presented above, defending while a Bubble is active in your build will cause problems to you, even if the Yucca's HPregen is greater than the HPr of a Leaf. Starfish is a substitute for the Yucca, but it only heals you until you reach 75% of your HP. Thus, Leaf is the best choice for this. Similarly, Root is not usable with the Bubble, as it only gives you extra Armor while you're on defensive mode.
  • Recently, a change to Moon Rock was made so that it can be propelled by Bubbles while you're on defensive mode, being propelled with the same velocity and distance as if you were to be propelled instead. This allows for a weird but usable strategy consisting of making Moon Rock move around by Bubbles, aiming properly and letting it hit other mobs or even other players for a big damage output, possibly killing them. However, be aware that you will have no petals surrounding you while that happens, and Moon Rock has a very long cooldown, so you'll be defenseless if the petals are too far away from you.

Garden

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles can be used to run from Bumble Bees and Spiders, since their movement speed is high. It can also be used to avoid getting rammed by a Bee, whose movement pattern allows it to reach you, or dodging Hornet missiles.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles will be useful to reach far away areas like the Bee Zone, Spiral, Ladybug Zone and Portals, as well as quickly getting into Ant Hell and Sewers.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles can help you in ramming Centipedes, since ramming them is pretty easy and efficient, as well as reaching Hornets, as they're ranged mobs, specially since you can use the Bubble both for dodging their missiles and ramming the Hornet itself. Bubbles can also be used to ram an Ant Hole, which will give you enough momentum to be recoiled back before you get hit by any of the spawned Ants.

Desert

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles are good for running away from Beetles and Desert Centipedes, since their movement speed can spell trouble to you, specially in the case of Beetles, who can kill you in a few hits. Also, similarly to Hornets in Garden, Bubble's propelling capabilities can help you to dodge stingers from a Scorpion without much trouble. However, if you can't dodge them properly, bring in Lotus with you to counter their poison damage. It could also help in dodging Sandstorms when they get too close to you, avoiding suffering too much damage from them.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles can help you in a multitude of situations: getting to the Ultra, Sandstorm, Legendary and Mythic zones, as well as searching for Shiny Ladybugs (for a chance at getting Yggdrasils) or the Trader (to trade your unwanted Petals into Coin), triggering many Fire Ant Burrows) for the Genocide/Rolling in Dough Achievements and, finally, aiding you in the Serial Killer Achievement.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles can aid in ramming Scorpions, but not much against everything else due to the mobs' high damage statistics, although you can still Bubble to ram a Beetle and instantly Bubble away from it.

Ocean

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles can be useful when running away from a swarm of Jellyfish, who are known for being a dangerous mob due to their lightning discharges. It can also help in escaping from a Crab's charge attack, or give a movement boost against Mythic+ rarity Leeches (as any rarity below Mythic might be too fast for the Bubble to aid in escaping), as well as a Shell mob, its dashes and its pearls.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles can help you get past Jellyfish Fields to get into Crab Kingdom and the Ocean Maze/Trench, as well as the Bubble zone/Oracle spawn and other important zones such as the Shell and the Leech zone.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles can help you in pushing Starfish mobs into a wall (thus dealing a lot of damage to them while they can't properly outheal you), and can help you ramming and then escaping Crabs and Shells.

Obtaining[]

  • Bubble mobs are near-stationary and very frail, meaning you won't have a hard time farming for this petal even at higher rarities. The main problem comes from other mobs, but this is still an easy task. Just note that they are greeded (quickly killed by someone in order to not let someone else to loot the greeded mob's drops) very often because players need them to travel to other places quickly.
  • You can go to Crab Kingdom to look after Ultra Bubble mobs, as it's the most likely place for it to spawn. However, it's quite the hard task, as you will need to deal with Mythic/Ultra Jellyfish, Crabs, Leeches, Shell mobs and Starfish mobs in your way, as well as a constant barrage of Mythic+ Crabs during your stay in Crab Kingdom.

Jungle

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles can be used to dodge Mantis and Wasp projectiles, Leafbugs if the situation gets tough, and Termites on a Termite Mound to avoid getting cornered/surrounded by them.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles will aid you in going to the Ultra mob arena and the Termite Hell Portal. There's not much else to say as Jungle has only one big pathway for one big zone, unlike something like Garden which wields Spiral, Bee Zone, Ladybug Zone, et cetera.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles will serve to reach Mantis and Wasps, as well as to ram-and-escape Fireflies and Leafbugs (by using Bubble to their direction, ramming, and then using Bubble to the opposite of their direction).

Hel

PvE[]

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles serve to run away from everything Hel may bring to your face: ignoring PvP, it can aid you in avoiding getting damaged byGambler's petals, running from Hel Beetles, Hel Centipedes and Hel Spiders, and dodge Hel Wasp missiles.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles will be slightly less useful (although still helpful), as you'll constantly find yourself fighting against Hel's challenges, without needing (or being able) to travel to a specific location pretty quickly. Plus, they aren't very far locations anyways.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles can aid you in ramming both Gamblers and Hel Wasps. It won't be of significant use against the rest as they will try to ram you, unless you need to escape from them with the Bubbles.

PvP: Using[]

  • Bubble allows the user to easily catch up to other flowers without Bubble (or Powder, if applicable). This also means the user can easily run from flowers without them, serving as great escaping tools.
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles will allow you to spot any player on any part of Hel. Using them in tandem with Antennae will allow you to easily spot enemy flowers from afar. Caution is needed for this, as not only Hel mobs are a constant threat, but also the flowers can end up being too strong for you to handle. Using a ram build as your traveling build at the same time might circumvent this, as you'll already be in your main PvP loadout and prepared for any dangers enemy flowers might bring you.
  • Using multiple, high-rarity Bubbles can allow the user to boost themselves farther, reaching distant areas. This helps in chasing as well as escaping. Again, caution is advised for doing that, as Hel's other dangers might destroy you and end your run, specially since Hel has many surprises going at once, including other players.
  • Bubbles are a multi-use petal, being useful not only for escaping, but for traveling, ramming, dodging, repositioning and boosting. They also end up serving a purpose not only in ram builds, but pretty much a multitude of builds in general due to their jack-of-all-trades characteristics.
  • As Bubbles activate when the user enters defensive mode, you can accidentally propel yourself in unwanted directions (specially towards a lot of Hel mobs and players) if you have to go into defense. To avoid it, the user has to stop defending when Bubbles are about to respawn (which is impossible as Bubbles have a very low respawn timer). Since defending is a great way to survive some situations, Bubble can become a liability, specially when using high rarity Bubbles and the Reload Talent, as their cooldown is too short for that to properly work.
  • Bubble has only 1 HP, meaning it can easily be destroyed by literally anything before the user even gets to boost with it.
  • Equip Bubbles in adjacent slots to boost their effect. Do not equip them in opposing slots. Using 2-3 Light/Pollen (specially Mythic+ rarity variants of these petals) will squeeze all Bubbles closer to each other, further enhancing their special ability. Using the Duplicator Talent while using this build will boost the strategy even more by allowing more Bubbles and less Light/Pollen petals at once.
  • Bubbles have many petals that can be used in tandem with it for PvP usage. Mainly, they are ram build petals:
    • Battery, which discharges lightning when you make contact with the flowers;
    • Cactus, which provides you an HP boost for even more collisions against other flowers;
    • Cutter, which boosts your body damage;
    • Disc, which reduces body damage taken;
    • Leaf, which passively heals you;
    • Light, as presented above;
    • Pollen, as presented above;
    • Powder, which further boosts your movement speed;
    • Rubber, which bounces you when you collide with a flower (only a good synergy if you're aiming for a quick escape after ramming them);
    • Salt, which reflects all damage taken;
    • Soil, which boosts your HP and radius (if you can handle its downsides);
    • Sponge, which only lets you take any damage suffered during a typically long period of time back to you, thus boosting the efficiency of your healing petals and decreasing the chances of your death, and finally;
    • Talisman, which gives you a certain percentage of chance to evade (not take) any damage.
  • Bubble usage can also be in normal builds, not only just in ram builds. For example, Bubbles may be used to propel you towards an enemy flower while you're using a build with some Stingers or Blood Stingers. The propel proportioned by the Bubble will allow you to suddenly attack the enemy with the burst petal, dealing a lot of damage just by going into defensive mode. Going into offensive mode will boost the strategy even further, as while it overrides defensive mode, the Bubbles will still activate their special abilities. This strategy will further be improved with the usage of Yin Yangs, letting you time both the Bubble boost and the burst petal heavily damaging the enemy appropriately. This requires mastering the hard strategies that revolve around the optimal usage of the Yin Yang petal.
  • Another example of Bubbles in non-ramming builds is using some Carrots and/or Missiles in your build. Since the petals orbiting you will have a delay in getting the same propelling boost as you have, there will be a pretty small time frame on where you are being boosted forwards by Bubble and where the front-facing projectile petal will be facing your back. This allows you to escape a certain player while still being able to shoot them from your back, creating a flank. This will also need some mastering, as it's pretty hard to master both the time frame limit and the aiming of the projectile petals (albeit easier than mastering Yin Yang strategies).

PvP: Against[]

  • Although it may be hard to catch a Bubble user, Bubble itself provides no offensive power. It has only 1 HP, so attacking it by literally any means possible will open a weak spot in the user's build. Attacking said weak spot will let you deal a lot of damage to and even kill the player. If the Bubble user uses more Bubbles, the weak spot will be even wider.
  • If a player attempts to ram you with Bubble, an Instant-DPS build that consists of Stingers and a lot of healing petals will deal a lot of damage at once, possibly being enough to drive them away or even kill them at once.
    • A valid alternative for this strategy involves bringing Cutter, Disc and/or Salt with you, each mitigating Bubble strategies in their own ways as presented above. They serve as great synergies for Bubble, but can also suffice in countering Bubble strategies.
  • Ranged petals are able to kill Bubble from afar. If you can properly aim, Carrots and/or Missiles will snipe both the Bubble and the user at once, dealing good damage. Otherwise, Grapes can be used, since multiple of them will be able to cover a lot of area, while wielding a poison trait that makes it superior to the Peas (despite not stacking).
  • Since other Hel mobs will constantly target the Bubble user while killing the petal itself (due to its 1 Health Point), you can attack the user while it can't escape due to its Bubble constantly dying. Be sure that you can take on the player and the Hel mobs around them as well.
  • Whenever you're facing a Bubble-burst petal-Yin Yang combo, make sure to always stay a certain distance from them, as doing so will make you suffer a lot of damage. Also, beware of any Carrots or Missiles while the user is trying to run away from you, as they may be able to hit you with the small time frame that those projectile petals are on the back of the fleeing user. Using Jelly to push the enemy away (for the first strategy), to push back the projectiles (for the second strategies), Third Eye/the Reach Talent tree to hit them from afar (for both strategies) and/or Salt to reflect back a part of the damage you suffer (also for both strategies) will mitigate the strategies of the Bubble user, and might make him rethink and restrategize to adapt to the situation.

Ant Hell

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles are decently good: while none of the mobs here are faster than you, Bubbles can help if you're in a hurry, as well as if you find yourself in imminent danger of being swarmed or cornered on any Ant Hell.
  • As traveling tools, one must use Bubble with caution: there will be a lot of Ants, Ant Eggs, Fire Ants and Termites in your way (and, depending on your place, even Termite Overmind). Using Bubbles without being aware of your surroundings may lead into you ramming a lot into unwanted things, causing you to lose a lot of HP and even die, bringing you back to the starting point of the Ant Hell you initially entered, unless you get revived by Yggdrasil or you have the Second Chance Talent tree active.
  • As ramming tools, Bubbles can serve for a multitude of situations: normal Ants deal moderate damage, even Queen Ants, letting you ram them many times at once without losing a lot of HP. Termites will share all damage suffered with other nearby Termites (due to their Psyonic Connection trait), letting you deal a lot of damage to multiple Termites at once (be careful about Termite Overminds, which can deal a lot of damage to you, and Super Termite Overminds can disable up to 6 petals in your build at once), and finally, while Fire Ants can be tough to handle due to their double damage, ramming them is still not a pretty bad idea. Cactus, Cutter, Disc and Soil (mainly) can further boost ramming strategies with the Bubble.

Sewers

  • As escaping tools, Bubbles are pretty hard to master. Not only Sewers' main pathway is a pretty confined one, but also there will be a lot of mobs in a small radius, leading to less spaces where you can safely propel yourself with Bubbles, and a higher chance of hitting something. That being said, if you do manage to handle the narrow pathway of Sewers, it can help against Flies, Spiders and Roaches, all of which are pretty dangerous: Fly will move very quickly towards you due to its zigzag movement pattern, dealing a lot of damage to you, Spiders can do a lot of poison damage to you over time (this can be avoided with Lotus usage), and finally, Roaches are the fastest mob alive if they manage to stay with full HP (it probably won't happen to be a problem, since ramming builds will end up dealing a lot of damage to the Roach anyways).
  • As traveling tools, Bubbles will be pretty good if you, again, ignore the problems of the narrowness of Sewers' only pathway. It can be pretty hard to get into the Ultra mob chamber, but Bubbles can help you with that. If you are considering to take the shortcut, be sure to be constantly aware of your surroundings, as a lot of Legendary+ Flies and Spiders are present there, and can easily surround and kill you, specially if you're in the early-mid game.
  • As ramming tools (again, if you manage to work around Sewers' narrow pathway), Bubbles can be used mainly in tandem with a lot of ramming build petals to mitigate the damage you take from a Roach. With Lotus, you can also handle a good number of Spiders at once, as well as Flies if you're using some Cacti. However, the biggest performance improvement Bubbles proportion you is against Moths, as you'll be able to have an easier time catching them due to your Bubbles' movement boost basically nullifying its fleeing speed. However, if you ram it too much (or you can't work around the narrowness of the pathway), substitute this with Pincer against Moths, as they'll reduce the mob's movement speed (while dealing poison damage at the same time as well), more or less equally mitigating the movement speed difference.

Trivia[]

  • Bubble's ability consisting of popping itself refers to real-life bubbles being frail and easily able to be popped.
  • Bubble is one of the eight petals that have a magic petal variant. The others are Cactus, Cotton, Grapes, Leaf, Missile, Peas, Stick and Stinger.
  • Around the end of April 2024, Bubble's ability duration and cooldown timer were buffed on all rarity variants of the petal.
  • Bubble is the first petal that cannot deal damage. The second one is is Antennae, which came from the same era as Bubble: legacy florr.io.
  • Bubble is the first petal to provide a movement boost (by propelling you). The second is Powder (which directly boosts your movement speed).
  • Bubble is the first petal that is exclusive to Ocean.
  • Bubble is one of the many petals that are dropped by a mob of the same name. The others are: Cactus, Dandelion, Ant Egg, Jelly (partially), Leaf (partially), Rock, Shell, Sponge, Square and Starfish. In the case of Bubble, it's Bubble mob.
    • Bubble, Cactus, Dandelion, Ant Egg (as it was Epic Egg), Leaf, Rock and Square all came from legacy florr.io.
      • However, the mob counterparts of Bubble, Ant Egg, Dandelion and Leaf didn't exist back on legacy florr.io, only appearing after new florr.io released. In the case of Bubble, its corresponding mob was released during the Waves era, when Ocean was initially released, joining Shell, Sponge and Starfish (new florr.io petals) in that list.
  • Legacy Bubble used to drop from Bees, Hornets and all types of Ladybugs (including the old Massive Ladybug) at the Rare rarity before the Bubble mob was added in the Waves era of florr.io.
  • Bubble is the first petal whose secondary cooldown timer (the cooldown timer for its ability) decreases with each Rarity increase. It used to be the only one until an update caused Mark's cooldown timers to swap between each other, meaning that Mark's secondary cooldown timer also does this now.
  • Bubble, Common Chip and Privet have the lowest durability in the game: 1 HP.
    • Bubble is also the weakest non-wearable petal in the game, dealing a total of 0 damage.
      • Those facts are true for Bubble because they exist for the sole purpose of propelling you and letting you get to places quicker (as well as having an easier time ramming things), thus, it doesn't need a damage stat (which would kill Bubble and not let it propel you. Also, it wouldn't make any sense for Bubbles to even deal damage) or any amounts of durability like another petal such as Dahlia or Rose (which need durability in order to survive to heal you a bit).
  • Bubble, its mob version, Glass and Jellyfish share the same color palette, and are the most transparent things in the game. Jelly comes to a close second in terms of transparency (as it appears to be just a little more translucent), however, its color palette is purple/magenta instead.
  • On the November 4th, 2024 update, there was a change to Bubbles surrounding Moon Rock: they can propel the petal forwards at the same velocity and distance as a flower would be propelled by them, having the same rules as when revolving a flower. This allows Moon Rock to be treated like a ranged petal, or even a stronger flower itself, although it cannot be healed. Bubbles orbiting Moon Rock are still able to cancel each other.
  • Bubble's description was changed from "You can right click to pop it and propel your flower." during legacy to "Physics are for the weak.".
