- This page is about base Cactus. For the magic petal variant, see Magic Cactus.
Cactus is a legacy petal from florr.io. Its function consists of increasing the user's maximum Health Points. Cactus is dropped by Cactus mobs.
Appearance[]
Cactus consists of an eight-sided green petal. Cactus' sides, while they are sharp in one end, are curvy on their beginning. Due to that, Cactus appears pointy, mimicking a real-life cactus' appearance. The petal also has a light green circle in the center, indicating a font of light shining on it, while also being surrounded by an even darker green outline.
Function[]
Rarity | Obtainable? | Damage | Health | Respawn | Flower Health |

Unique | 32,805 HP | 98,415 HP | +196,830 HP |
When equipped, Cactus increases the user's maximum health by a certain amount, which is dependant on the petal's rarity. It also heals the flower so that the percentage of your remaining HP stays the same, but it doesn't actually heal the flower otherwise. This effect is stackable, meaning that its HP buff can stack with other Cacti, Soil and even the Health Talent.

Strategy[]
- Cactus' main synergy is certainly ram builds, since they play a key role in them by increasing your HP by a nice amount, letting you ram an entity more times due to having more health to do so. Thus, Cactus (specially multiple of them) is usually found with petals like Cutter, Disc or Sponge for an efficient ramming build that can work in any situations given that the player manages to consistently ram the enemy.
- Cactus can also be useful in tank builds, whose purpose is to take the most damage you can handle over time without dying, and Cactus (specially multiple of them) will give you more HP to use to tank more hits, meaning that usually tanks will also have Cacti in their build, along with Basil and a few healing petals.
- It should be noted that Cacti have the same statistics as Rock of the previous rarity, making high rarity Cacti very useful as both offensive and defensive petals by themselves.
Garden
- When Cacti are used in Garden, they allow the user to take more damage from Hornet missiles before the user needs to care for their health. Pairing this with Salt will allow the user to deal damage to the Hornets without directly attacking them via damage reflection, as well as Sponge to slowly receive damage, allowing your healing petals to heal more than you lose health.
- Cacti can also be an efficient tool in letting you soak more poison damage at once from Spiders. Using Lotus alongside your build will boost the strategy even further, having Lotus take the poison damage instead of you, while Cactus stays as a backup plan in case Lotus fails.
Desert
- Cactus can serve as a good petal against Scorpions, letting you have more HP to tank both the stinger and the poison damage that comes with it, similarly to both Hornets and Spiders. Salt can boost this strategy by reflecting damage back at the Scorpion. Lotus may or may not be advised depending on your performance.
- Cactus will also help against Beetles, letting you take some more hits before dying to one. This is useful as Beetles are notorious for dealing a lot of damage at once, specially at higher rarities. Cactus mobs and Sandstorms, albeit not aggressive, can also be countered the same since they deal a lot of damage at once.
- Cactus' HP buff will somewhat counter double damage from Soldier Fire Ants spawned from a Fire Ant Burrow, though it isn't as notable as other strategies.
- Cactus' HP buff can also aid you in Desert Centipede fights, both if they suddenly ram onto you and when they're already ramming you. The HP buff means the Desert Centipede (and other mobs trying to kill you at the same time) will take longer to kill you, which is very helpful as the mob's speed won't let you run away very easily.
Obtaining[]
- Cactus mobs are very durable. Be prepared to spend quite a long time fighting it, and better bring Bur or high-damaging petals like Stinger to have a quicker time degrading their health. However, they're stationary, so they wont cause a lot of problems by themselves. Thus, should you not face constant danger by fighting other Desert mobs, farming for Cacti is pretty easy.
- If you're aiming to get a lot of low rarity Cacti, the Cactus mob zone just above the Desert spawn is a great place, as it has a very high frequency of Common and Unusual Cactus mobs that spawn there. For getting higher rarity Cacti, but having to fight other mobs, you can go into the Mythic corridor and the Ultra mob zones of Desert.
Ocean
- Cacti will give you extra HP to fight Jellyfish and their constant lightning discharges, much like Hornets and Scorpions, with the difference being that discharges are not physical projectiles. This is specially useful if there are swarms of Jellyfish, which could easily kill you with their multiple discharges at once.
- Cacti will also help you when fighting a Super Shell mob, as it will fire pearls at you, thus strategies with not only Cacti but also Salt will be useful. Fighting Ultra+ Shell mobs should be the same, except that they don't fire pearls, with Cacti still being somewhat useful.
- Cacti will give a good help when fighting Leeches, as they will require more hits to kill you once they have locked into you, even though their lifesteal mechanic could still make them harder to deal anyways.
- Cacti's HP buff can aid you if Crabs charging onto you is a frequent problem, letting you withstand more of their hits.
Jungle
- Strategies used when fighting Mantises and Wasps should be similar to fighting Hornets in Garden. This includes Cactus and Salt strategies. Be careful, since the projectiles from a Mantis can debuff your Armor, which makes you take more damage at once, possibly more than you can handle.
- Cacti can be handy if Fireflies ramming into you causes a lot of trouble to you. Even though they are pretty weak in both damage and durability, they can still somewhat deal some damage to you, so be careful.
Hel
PvE[]
- Cactus is an useful tool when fighting against Hel mobs. For example, it's a good petal to have if Hel Wasp missiles are rapidly and critically chipping your HP, leaving you to almost die. This is specially true to them, as they send a barrage of missiles at once at you.
- Cactus' HP buff can also help you against both Hel Beetles and Hel Spiders. Not only do they deal a lot of damage at once, but their special abilities (Hel Beetle's teleports and Hel Spider's stronger poison damage) could easily get you killed without extra HP.
- Cactus can also aid you when fighting Gamblers. Their petals' special abilities (Chip's Evasion and Dice's critical hits) could harm you a lot and even kill you, while using Cacti will reduce your chances of dying to them.
PvP: Using[]
- In general, Cactus can be worthy just with the HP buff. Generally requiring more hits to be taken down can prove to be just enough to have the edge over opponents. Plus, the petal itaelf is pretty tanky, letting it soak some damage for you while still having the HP buff active even during cooldown.
- Cactus can prove to be a good counter against Salt users. Salt can reflect 20% of all incoming damage, which makes them annoying to hit. Although healing builds are usually enough, Cactus' HP buff can aid you in mitigating the damage reflection.
- Cactus itself is a good tool to use with Salt builds, as the HP buff can be used to withstand more damage from opponents, thus reflecting more damage at once, leading to more threatening counterattacks or just chip damage.
- Extra health does not mean extra healing, so healing petals are needed to cover damage suffered.
- Cactus' HP buff can be crucial in a build relying on Blood Stingers, letting you take more damage before their self damage detriment you enough.
PvP: Against[]
- A Cactus user with healing petals is pretty hard to take down, as they usually heal too much to your build to outdamage the heal. Healing can be lowered with Dandelion. Using poison petals such as Iris increases the efficiency of this, dealing tons of damage over time paired with less healing to mitigate poison damage.
- Cactus users will take longer to kill, but Cactus itself lacks offensive power. Knowing this, Cactus can be used as a weak point to attack the opposing flower.
- Beware of Bubble-Cactus-Cutter and Salt-Cactus builds, and always stay away from the former. Versus the latter, try bringing Salt yourself, or use a Dandelion to counter their healing, then burst them with Stingers and similar petals.
- One can take advantage of Cactus' HP buff and bring Claw in your build, as the HP buff will increase the odds of Claw hitting two or even more bonus damage, leaving the opponent more vulnerable.
Ant Hell
- Cactus' HP buff can serve in Ant Hell battles, specially when you can't find a place to escape, since Ant Hell is a pretty dense area. Cactus mainly helps against Fire Ants' double damage, but can also help in normal Ant and Termite zones.
- Termite Overminds will temporarily disable the extra HP gained if it disables Cactus. Take note of that.
Sewers
- Cactus can turn to be an useful tool in Sewers, as mobs will constantly chip your HP. As an example, it helps against Spiders, who deal a lot of poison damage as well as body damage.
- Cactus' HP buff can also be a last resort against Flies when it evades all of your petals' damage, letting you survive for slightly longer.
- Cactus won't be a very ideal petal against Roaches, as they are too quick and deal a lot of damage at once.

Trivia[]
- Cactus' flower health was buffed by 1.2% from its original amount in a certain update.
- Cactus' flower health buff is double its durability, as well as six times its damage. This means that Cactus' durability is triple its health.
- Also, starting at the Unusual rarity, Cactus' damage and durability stats are the same as Rock's damage and durability values of one rarity lower than Cactus.
- Cactus is one of the nine petals that have a magic petal variant. The others are Bubble, Cotton, Grapes, Leaf, Missile, Peas, Stick and Stinger.
- Cactus is one of the only three petals that can increase a flower's Health Points. The other ones are Relic and Soil.
- This is the only legacy petal that can do so.
- In legacy florr.io, Cactus had three rarities: Rare, Epic and Legendary. All three of them were dropped by the same mob (Cactus mob) and had one attribute in common (the flower HP buff, with Rare and Epic Cacti giving you 20 extra HP and Legendary Cacti giving you 13.3 extra HP, for a total of 40 extra HP). however, Epic/Legendary Cacti each had a twist: the former used to do poison damage when your flower had body contact with any entity (while also having weak poison damage by itself), while the latter was three Cactus petals in one (which is why it used to be called by the community Tricactus or Tricac), while buffing your health 2x more (but lacking Epic Cactus' poison traits). Neither Epic nor Legendary Cactus have returned yet to current florr.io.
- Before the July 30th, 2022 update, Rare Cacti used to give you the same poison ability on contact as legacy Epic Cactus.
- A player with 10 Cacti of one rarity can give as much HP as the durability value of Corn of the same rarity. This means that, while Super Cacti give you 656,100 HP, Super Corn, the second most durable petal in the game, has 656,100 HP of durability.
- This statistic is so strong that a player using this can withstand being hit by 4 Super Irises (each dealing 612,360 HP worth of poison damage and 43,740 HP worth of contact damage, both statistics adding up to exactly 656,100 HP worth of damage) or 3 Super Stinger or Blood Stinger petals without the Duplicator Talent (with the individual petal dealing 43,740 HP worth of damage, all five of them composing the petal dealing 218,700 HP worth of damage each and fifteen of them composing three of the petal dealing exactly 656,100 HP worth of damage each), or 2.5 of them.
- Statistically speaking, 10 Cacti of one rarity can buff your HP to the point where you can handle (to the point where the remaining HP completely nullifies the HP buff):
- One Corn of the same rarity;
- Contact damage and poison damage from four Irises of the same rarity (it is worth noting that this statistic is purely theoretical, as petals do not take poison damage), and finally;
- Fifteen Stinger/Blood Stinger individual petals of the same rarity, or fifteen whole petals (Common-Legendary), five whole petals (Mythic), 10/3 whole of them (Mythic with Duplicator), three whole of them (Ultra and Super) and 2.5 whole of them (Ultra and Super with Duplicator).
- Statistically speaking, 10 Cacti of one rarity can buff your HP to the point where you can handle (to the point where the remaining HP completely nullifies the HP buff):
- Cactus is one of the many petals that are dropped by a mob of the same name. The others are Bubble, Dandelion, Ant Egg, Jelly (partially), Leaf (partially), Rock, Shell, Sponge, Square and Starfish. In the case of Cactus, it's Cactus mob.
- Cactus, Bubble, Dandelion, Ant Egg (as it was Epic Egg), Rock and Square all come from legacy florr.io.
- However, only Cactus, Rock and Square's corresponding mobs came from legacy florr.io.
- Cactus, Bubble, Dandelion, Ant Egg (as it was Epic Egg), Rock and Square all come from legacy florr.io.
