Coin is a petal from florr.io. It has no special functionalities, but it is obtained as a prize for exchanging a petal. Due to this, Coin is not dropped from anything, and must be obtained from the Trader.

Appearance[]

It looks a gold circle with a bright yellow outline and a darker yellow inside, with a 'G' representing a parody of the dollar symbol, in a milky-yellow colour. The colors of the Coin's body are close to an Ant Hole's colors.

Function[]

Petal Stats
Rarity Obtainable? Damage Health Reload
Common Yes 15 10 2.5 seconds
Unusual 45 30
Rare 135 90
Epic 405 270
Legendary 1,215 810
Mythic 3,645 2,430
Ultra 10,935 7,290
Super 32,805 21,870
Unique 98,415 65,610

The Coin assimilates with the Basic as in it's not special in terms of stats, special abilities or pretty much anything, although it does deal more damage than normal Basics. However, what makes Coin special is that it is obtained from trading any other petal with Trader, which gives you a Coin. The rarity of the Coin given will match with the rarity of the petal you gave to the Trader. Coins can still be crafted normally.

Obtainment[]

Although no mobs drop it, it can be obtained from the Trader in the Desert, which is by putting any rarity petal to get a Coin of the same rarity as the petal you traded. You can only trade one petal to one Coin every 24 hours.

Purchasing[]

Unlike other petals, Coin can't be purchased from the Shop.

Strategy[]

  • Despite not having special abilities, the Coin functions as a great substitute petal: it deals more damage than a Basic, its health is average (same as the Basic) and its reload is pretty good (also same as the Basic). This is good on Bubble or Yin Yang builds as a replacement for better petals.
  • Due to its notably good damage, it can still do pretty good on its own, specially at higher rarities.
  • All strategies applied to Basic can be applied here, but with a better chance of success due to extra damage.
  • Beware: its extra damage doesn't come with extra health. This means that, on scenarios that the Basic is instantly killed, Coins make no difference aside from some extra damage.
  • Crafting multiple Coins is not recommended, as you can just get higher-rarity Coins from the Trader itself. Just give the Trader an unwanted high-rarity petal.
    • Also, crafting makes you lose Coins.
    • Unique Coin cannot be obtained from the Trader, which must instead be forged.

Garden

  • Coins as substitute petals are good for fending off Hornet missiles and Spiders alike.
  • They can also help you quickly kill Ant Holes (and their ants) and Centipedes.

Desert

  • This petal's damage buff (relative to Basic) is more helpful against Sandstorms than anything else: higher damage means easier time against them. The HP of the Coin doesn't change, so this is technically another advantage.
  • Other strategies used by either Basic or other normal petals can apply here.

Obtaining: Trading[]

  • Accessing the Trader will be hard depending on your progress in the game: it may spawn on harder zones than you can handle. It's best if you either hope it spawns/wanders to closer to the Desert spawn place, or grind a lot until you can handle multiple Ultra+ mobs, or just rely on squads and friends to bring you there.
  • When at the Trader, be sure to trade useless petals like Air and Clover for this, preferably at Mythic+ rarities.
  • Even though said petals (and more) or just unneeded petals can be deemed useless, you can still try to farm for them and craft them so you can get a high rarity Coin, which holds very well.

Ocean

  • Its extra damage compared to Basic is welcome against Leeches. Dealing more damage means killing it quicker, thus you will take less damage and have less chances of dying.
  • Coin can also help you deal with Shells and their Pearl projectiles, obviously not on the level of other petals, but still holding pretty well.

Ant Hell

  • Coins are also nicely welcomed in Ant Hell and Termite Mounds. Their higher damage output means a better fight with all Ants and (specially) Termites while still being useful versus Fire Ants.
  • Coin will multihit mobs rarities below itself in this zone, making it an excellent pick. A Super Coin will deal close to 100k damage to most Ultra mobs in this zone.

Hel

Using[]

  • This isn't that bad against PvP. It deals considerably big damage against other flowers and other petals. You can pick this if you want, but still remember to replace it with petals like Stinger when available.
  • This also holds quite well against Hel mobs, but to a lesser extent since they are faster and more annoying sometimes.

Against[]

  • Despite appearing basic, this hurts a lot. Don't underestimate it, or you may die.
    • The best way to counter this is by using superior damage petals like Stinger or more durable ones like Heavy, though be prepared for their downs.

Jungle

  • Its increased damage is a good contender for fighting Leafbugs, especially at higher rarities. Coin also holds pretty well against Mantises and their projectiles.

Sewers

  • Coins can take good care of Roaches and Spiders if you know what you're doing.
  • This can also kill Flies and Moths with more efficiency.

Trivia[]

  • It's damage is 1.5x times higher than the base damage.
  • This and Basic are the only petals not able to be dropped by any mobs.
    • They are also the only petals to not appear in the mob gallery (as they can't be dropped by any mob).
  • Coin, Basic, Chip and Square are the only petals who cannot be bought from the Shop.
    • In the Coin's case, it's because it would make the Trader NPC useless, as players would ignore it and only buy Coins from the shop.
  • This and Basic are the only petals to not be involved with RNG at all on their own, as they lack a drop chance from a certain mob or a chance to appear in the Shop. SInce the Coin is 100% gotten after a trade and a rarity is always 100% assigned once you trade a petal, there's no random chance of the petal not being traded or not matching the appropriate rarity. Only Crafting them would include RNG.
  • This petal, its design, its description and its function are obvious references to the real-life acts of capitalism, trading and money currency (in this case, the dollar currency).
  • Coin was released on May 24th, 2024 without being listed in Changelogs. When it was first released, its health stats were the the same as its damage. It got nerfed a few hours later to match the HP of the Basic.
  • The first player to obtain the Coin was a youtuber named Manfred. M28 himself gave him a Common Coin.
  • Upon trading at certain rarities, you can get 3 Achievements from this.
