Corruption is a petal from florr.io added in the August 27th, 2024 update. It allows its wearer to PvP outside of Hel. Corruption is dropped by Gamblers.
Appearance[]
- The Corruption petal is a skull with angry eyes. The color of the skull is grey and transparent.
- The flower itself will not be yellow anymore: its eyes will be more circular and its body color will turn red, being identical to a Gambler.

Upon equipping this petal, you cannot unequip it again. Even when unequipped by the players, it will reappear back in the loadout, although changing the loadout fully unequips the Corruption. A flower using this will have PvP enabled even outside of Hel. The flower's appearance will also be changed to match the Gambler's appearance. After its user dies, this petal vanishes (doesn't go to your inventory), but unequipped Corruptions will stay there forever in your inventory, like other petals. Super Corruption will actually not be destroyed upon death, thought you're still not able to unequip it until you die. Unique Corruption allows you to corrupt any player you touch.
Summoned Beetles become Hel Beetles when summoned if Corruption is equipped.

Strategy[]

A player using corruption to loot a digger.
- The Ultra Corruption is the riskiest petal to use, as it can get you killed pretty quickly and can't be unequipped. If you leave or die while having the Corruption equipped, it will permanently disappear.
- The only PvE use of this petal is enabling killing Diggers yourself so that you can loot it faster or loot it even if it was activated by other players.
- The Corruption is mainly used for trolling. You can kill other players instantly if they aren't aware. However, such activities are considered toxic and not encouraged.
- This petal is basically useless as a utility petal, since disconnecting, abandoning the game or even dying destroys the petal. If you end up obtaining it, keep it in your inventory and don't equip it, or try to exchange it for a Coin at the Trader or save them to craft or Oracle a Super Corruption.
- Since this petal is useless for attacking/defending and is mostly cosmetic (other petals will be used to attack players), this will have limited strategies.
- All Ultra+ areas of all zones will be populated with a LOT of very strong players. You most likely won't handle them alone. As such, do not use it there, otherwise the other players will kill you.
- Using Uranium and a combination of Basil plus Leaf, Starfish or Yucca alongside Corruption will catch many players off guard, possibly killing them, whether they're around level 20-50, whether they're unprepared Super hunters. Beware of not dying by the Uranium as you'll lose the Corruption, and if the players can withstand the Uranium or not.
- If you manage to craft the Super Corruption, you don't have to worry about losing it, as it would no longer disappear after dying or leaving.
- If you get your hands on a Unique Corruption, you’ll be able to corrupt other flowers while corrupted, and you still get to keep it.
Garden
- PvPing here isn't that bad, as there is a considerable amount of players farming for petals there. Just make sure to not get overwhelmed by Hornets and Spiders in your fights and use Lotus and Plank to absorb poison and counter projectiles if you are fighting players near zones where there are plenty of them.
Desert
- There will be a considerable amount of strong players hunting Shiny Ladybugs for a chance at Yggdrasil, so beware. Also, watch out to not trigger too many Fire Ant Burrows and take care of Scorpions before they cause trouble to you.
Ocean
- There won't be a lot of players for Corruption to be useful: besides, Jellyfish and Leeches will constantly annoy you while fighting with a player. Try using Rubber and Fang to absorb lightning and counter lifesteal.
Ant Hell
- Besides avoiding dying to Ants, there is a considerable amount of players on all Ant Hells for you to fight, and they're usually beginner players, so enjoy getting lots of kills. If you are using UNIQUE corruption, enjoy messing with the AFK eggers.
- Keep in mind that those under Level 20 will NOT be affected.
Hel
Using[]
- Corruption is fully useless in Hel, as PvP is already enabled there, which means that using an Ultra Corruption means wasting it. However, it can be used if you want to do it for the sole reason of looking like a Gambler. This might draw extra attention to you since Gamblers are actively hunted due to their petals. To complete the illusion, equip a high rarity Air and several Dice, Chips, and Cards in alternating order. Clover is also recommended to complete the cosplay. You can perfectly look like a Epic Gambler with 8 visible petals.
Against[]
- Players using Corruption in Hel will have one petal less in their hotbar, thus being killed easier due to them being unable to use one petal slot.
- Players using Corruption outside of Hel have to be treated independently, depending on what build they may use. Be sure to watch out for an individual zone's mobs.
- Watch out if you face a Unique Corruption user. It can corrupt you alongside other players.
Obtaining[]
- This petal can be only obtained from Gamblers. They drop very rarely, and you're probably only getting them from Super Gamblers due to 64.3% chance compared to a 0.2% from Ultra Gamblers, which is very difficult to loot due to lots of players trying to kill it and PvP being enabled.
- Remember to stay away from Gamblers with petals like Missile and Wing to avoid getting severely hurt by their petals.
Jungle
- This zone is very empty in terms of players. Besides, Mantises and Wasps will keep annoying you on any PvP going.
- If you need a quick hideout to regenerate, just go to a Termite Mound and slowly take care of all Termites there while regenerating your own health.
Sewers
- Sewers has a decent fair of players for you to fight, but Roaches and Spiders are specially dangerous when unwatched, so be cautious.

Trivia[]
- Corrupted flowers on a squad with normal flowers still damage each other, and cannot revive each other either.
- Corruption can make Diggers corrupted and become a hostile mob.
- This is one of the only petals that start at Ultra rarity, the others being Compass and Moon Rock.
- This is one of the only petals that are exclusive to Hel, the others being Basic (as of April 12 2024), Card, Chip and Dice.
- This and Basic are the only ones that don't have RNG in their mechanics, although this has RNG in terms of drop rates.
- This, Air, Card, Chip, Compass, Dahlia, Dice and Rose are tied for having the highest Ultra petal drop chance, at 64.3% from a Super mob.
- All mentioned petals plus Missile, and Pollen are the only petals to have a higher chance to drop at Ultra rarity (64.3% for said petals, 58.4% for Missile and Pollen) than at Mythic rarity (35.7% for said petals minus Compass and Corruption, 41.6% for Missile and Pollen) by the Super rarity variation of the mob that drops this (Gambler for the Hel petals, Bubble Mob for Air, Termite Overmind for Compass, Shiny Ladybug for Dahlia and Rose, Hel Wasp and Wasp for Missile and Bumble Bee for Pollen).
- Corruption and Compass are unique in that case: they can't be dropped at Mythic rarity. However, since their drop chances at Ultra are 64.3% (above 50%), their theoretical Mythic drop chances would have to be lower than that in order to equal 100%, thus technically still fitting in that trivia.
- In the case of the Hel petals, it's due to the fact that Gamblers are pretty rare and very strong.
- Corruption is the only petal to permanently (from usage until you die) change your appearance (and the only one to turn you into a mob, which is the Gambler). Other petals (such as the Iris) only do so temporarily.
- Also, the Ultra rarity of this is the only petal to be locked to your inventory (in this case, until you die), and the only temporary petal (vanishes after a condition has been met) in the game, although Super Corruptions are permanent.
- Corruption being a temporary petal might be a reference to all old Ultra petals, since they used to vanish after you die when you use them. This was changed when the Waves system was removed. The reference may be further strengthened by the fact that Super Corruption doesn't vanish like the Ultra rarity variation.
- Also, the Ultra rarity of this is the only petal to be locked to your inventory (in this case, until you die), and the only temporary petal (vanishes after a condition has been met) in the game, although Super Corruptions are permanent.
- Despite not having buffed stats, Super Corruptions have one pro against Ultra Corruptions: it stays in your inventory after death, meaning that you can always PvP outside of Hel even after you die.
- Unique Corruptions have an extra ability: it allows you to corrupt other players that you come in contact with.
- The skull appearance of the petal used to be a badge before it was changed to just a skull on the September 2nd, 2024 update.
- Back then, the Corruption was a octagonal shape with sharp but curvy edges and colored red with a darker red on its outline, while the skull itself was close to the petal's red color. The appearance of the flower still exactly matched a Gambler's looks.
- It also used to have a pinker skull icon.
- The Corruption is a reference to the phrase "gamblers belong in hell", much like Gamblers residing in Hel.
- Corruption implies that Gamblers were flowers before their souls have been corrupted beyond repair (implied by their lock-on ability) by gambling. It also implies the existence of skulls, at least for flowers and/or Gamblers. The existence of skulls can further be proved by Bone. It also implies that Legendary+ Gamblers have 11+ slots for petals (for Corruption and Air).
- Additionally, Gambler's description references Corruption, as it is possible to play as a Gambler with it.
- Unique Corruption implies that the corruption is contagious, meaning that the Hel Mobs were affected by Corruption as well.
- A Player by the name of hqyx was the first person to craft the Super Corruption. The second one was Rodan.
- Either rahu or hyqx was the first person to craft the Super Corruption.
- Pehiley was the first to craft Unique Corruption. He likely bought many Super Corruptions to forge the Unique Corruption.
