Cutter is a petal from florr.io. Unlike other petals, it is worn by the flower, increasing the body damage of its wearer. Its effect does not stack. The Cutter is dropped by Diggers.

Appearance[]

It is identical to the spinner that a Digger uses, being completely black and having 8 curved spikes that spins around the flower at a fast pace, clockwise.

Function[]

Rarity Obtainable? Extra Body Damage
Common Yes 27
Unusual 81
Rare 243
Epic 729
Legendary 2187
Mythic 6561
Ultra 11363.99
Super 19683
Unique 34091.96

When the flower has this in their primary petal loadout, the Cutter will appear on its body. During usage, the Cutter increases body damage (whereas base body damage is 25 HP), although it doesn't stack with multiple Cutters equipped, meaning it doesn't further increase body damage the more Cutters you use. It has no cooldown timer, and it appears on the flower as soon as it is equipped. Due to the fact that Cutter isn't a petal that orbits around you, the space between other petals in your loadout is increased when this is in use.

Strategy[]

  • Unlike Salt, Cutter's damage output isn't affected by Cotton, Lotus, Root or Sponge.
  • As this increases body damage, it works best with ram builds with Cactus, Salt and some other petals, so you deal more damage against other entities.
  • It can be used with the Portal invincibility mechanic to abuse and deal significant damage when the mobs are portal camping.
  • Keep in mind this doesn't increase damage resistance, so you'll have to equip a Cotton, Lotus (for poison damage) or Sponge to absorb damage taken, or healing petals to quickly heal yourself.
  • Do not use this with petals that bounce back mobs (Jelly and high durability petals like Heavy) or Rubber, which bounces you back, keeping you away from dealing extra body damage.
    • Ironically though, Cutters work alongside Bubbles, because they can help bouncing you towards a mob.
  • You need to heal after taking severe damage from ramming other mobs. Use passive healing petals like Leaf and Yucca alongside Basil to regain your health quickly, as normally you'll be constantly chased/attacked by mobs, which will kill other healing petals like Dahlia and Rose.
  • The Sharp Edges Talent tree will boost the usage of this petal further, thus improving its strategies.

Obtaining[]

  • As they're friendly mobs, you can't kill Diggers, but they're easily killed by the circumstances they spawn.
    • In Garden and Desert, Diggers (specially the ones you want to look for) are usually swarmed by high rarity and dangerous mobs, such as Hornets, Sandstorms or Scorpions.
      • In Desert specially, there are many Fire Ant Burrows to pop, which means that Diggers have a higher chance of aggroing many Soldier Fire Ants which deal double damage.
    • In Jungle, the Termites' Psyonic Connection and higher health means they will die less quicker and deal more damage to Diggers, not to mention the Termite Overmind, a very tanky mob. If the Digger even survives, it'll be severely hurt, meaning anything else outside of the Termite Mound✓can kill it.
    • Don't forget to defend yourself against the Ants and other mobs. Diggers are unreliable to deal with everything in Ant Holes, Fire Ant Burrows and Termite Mounds, and when chasing this, be sure to not get killed by mobs in the path.
  • If all else fails, Diggers naturally lose health over time, to ensure they will die even without engaging in combat.

Garden

  • When ramming, Cutter functions terribly in Garden. Bees and Hornets and have too much body damage and will get you killed if you try to ram-kill them. Spiders, while their base body damage is low, will cause poison damage when rammed, which can deal enough damage to kill you if you don't bring Lotus or healing petals.
    • Alternatively, ramming any other mobs whose rarity are Mythic+ will just prove ineffective as they have too much body damage for you to handle.
    • The best and only viable contenders for ramming are Ant Holes (mainly Rare, but if you advance enough, you can go to Epic and even Legendary) and Ladybugs (if you can outheal them).
    • Depending on how much body damage you got, you might kill Hornet missiles in one less hit, meaning you have less chances of dying.

Desert

  • Cutter is a good contender for killing Desert Centipedes and Fire Ant Burrows, as you'll shred through all of the Centipede segments or Soldier Fire Ants, or at least damage them consistently. However, bring Leaves or Yuccas with you so you can handle them and mitigate having your HP depleted.
  • This is also a decent contender against Beetles, letting you deal more damage to them and kill them quicker. However, you might want to stay away from Beetles instead as they're fast and quite strong.
  • Cutter does terrible against Scorpions. It might deal more damage to stingers, but poison damage will not be prevented/reduced, so either use Lotus or replace this.
    • It also does terrible against Sandstorms, because their body damage is too big to deal ram damage to them before you die.

Ocean

  • Cutter is okay in Ocean. Its damage can help with most mobs here as they are ramming mobs, but they still pack quite the punch and can prove dangerous if you don't take care. Cutter is more of an emergency petal in that it'll be better in dire situations, like against Crabs.
  • Carrying a Cutter around constantly isn't a bad idea, as it can deal more damage to Leeches who happen to surprise you.
  • If you want to ram Ultra+ Shells despite their devastating stats, be sure to watch out for their Pearls.
  • While Rubber does absorb a Jellyfish's lightning discharges to aid Cutter, it is not advised to stay close to them: there may be a horde of them, and you want to stay a considerable distance from them in order to kill them.

Ant Hell

  • Using Cutters here will give you more survivability if you get cornered or if an Ant catches up to you. If you're cautious, that won't happen, but it will help if it's impossible to dodge or if you can't avoid contact.
    • Termites, however, need to get special attention, as not only do they have high health, Psyonic Connection will aggro close-up Termites (which usually means most of them) to deal more damage at you while surviving for longer, not to forget the Termite Overmind which has too much health to be killed with ram.
      • Using Salt will reflect (thus deal more) damage at the Termite you're ramming, and due to Psyonic Connection, all Termites will take more damage. The more Termites ramming you, the higher the damage (but be sure to briny passive heals with you).

Hel

Using[]

  • Hel Beetle, Hel Centipede, Hel Spider and Hel Wasp work the same as their base versions: works against Centipede, is okay against Beetles and Wasp projectiles and does poorly against Spiders.
  • On PvP, you can pair this with, Bubbles, Cactus, Salt and passive heals like Leaf, which will create a very good ramming build. While Cutter deals increased damage while ramming, Salt ensures extra damage is dealt because the flower takes damage from enemy flowers' body damage. Bubbles will boost the user to get close to their target, Cactus will to increase its user's max health (allowing for more time ramming), and Leaves will heal you over time, quickly setting you up for round two.

Against[]

  • Using long-ranged petals like Missile or Wing can be used to take Cutter users without risking them.
  • Using burst petals like Stinger will let you kill them quicker, as Cacti, Sponge and healing/damage reduction petals are likely to increase a Cutter user's survivability a lot.
  • Remember that ram builds in general will have Bubbles to catch up with targets. Bubble and Rubber will help you mantain a distance from them, while Jelly and multi-hit petals like Corn will push them away.
  • It's necessary to bring healing petals, because even if you don't get rammed, almost all Cutter users will bring Salt, which deals damage back at you. You can also use Disc to reduce body damage taken.

Jungle

  • Some mobs encountered here can be treated quite the same as other mobs: Mantises and Wasps are like Hornets and their missiles (Mantises deal lower body damage), Evil Centipedes can be treated like Desert Centipedes and Leafbugs are like Beetles, while every other mob can be killed with generic strategies.
  • When facing a Termite Mound, scroll up a bit to check the Ant Hell strategy that addresses them.

Sewers

  • Spiders will detriment the usage of Cutter. However, Flies and surprise Moths are quite weak at low rarities, meaning they can be killed quicker.
  • Just like Beetles, it does okay against Roaches. You want to stay away from them, but using this will help you kill them quicker, specially since Roaches are faster than most other mobs.

Trivia[]

  • The Cutter is the first utility petal to be added after the rework of the game, the second being Third Eye.
    • It is the second petal to be worn by the player rather than orbiting them, the first being a legacy petal, Antennae.
  • Despite being a wearable petal, Cutter technically does deal damage. The extra body damage you deal when wearing this can be interpreted as the Cutter's individual damage stat.
  • Cutter used to resist an Ultra/Super Sandstorm's pull, but its resistance was removed and now only Air and Soil can resist it.
  • This, Basic and Coin are the only petals that can't be obtained by killing a mob.
    • Unlike Basic and Coin though, this can still be dropped from a mob. This is because Diggers are friendly and cannot be damaged by a flower, but as they attack mobs and still are one themselves, their HP will deplete when they ram into another mob until their death.
  • It's description implies that you are using the Cutter to avenge a dead Digger.
