- This page is about the petal. For the mob with the same in-game name that drops this, see Dandelion (Mob).
Dandelion is a legacy petal from florr.io that was added on the February 11th, 2020 update. It reduces enemy healing by 20%. The Dandelion is dropped by Dandelion Mobs.
Appearance[]
The Dandelion's body is almost exactly like the Basic petal, just slightly smaller. Its differential from that petal is that the Dandelion has a black stick out of one side. This black part goes straight out ending in a semicircle. The black part always points towards the flower when orbiting.
Function[]
Note: The "A + B" respawn format means that the petal takes A seconds to respawn and B seconds after respawning to do its special action/have its special action enabled.
Rarity | Obtainable? | Damage | Health | Respawn |
---|---|---|---|---|
Common | No | 8 | 8 | 1 second |
Unusual | Yes | 24 | 24 | |
Rare | 72 | 72 | ||
Epic | 216 | 216 | ||
Legendary | 648 | 648 | ||
Mythic | 972 (x2) | 972 (x2) | ||
Ultra | 1944 (x3) | 1944 (x3) | ||
Super | 5832 (x3) | 5832 (x3) | ||
Unique | 17496 (x3) | 17496 (x3) |
When the Dandelion hits an enemy, they will have their healing reduced by 20% for 30 seconds. This time is reduced by 50% for flowers. This effect stacks, which means using 5 of them in a quick succession stops 100% of healing for a while. The only mob this is effective against is the Starfish due to its healing mechanic. A flower under the effect of a Dandelion will turn pale yellow/almost white and be sad regardless of whether or not it's defending. Mythic Dandelion has 2 Dandelions in one petal slot, while Ultra and Super Dandelions have 3, and finally, Ultra and Super Dandelions will have four in one if you have the Duplicator Talent. Mythic+ Dandelions will squish all your petals together like a Light on Unusual+ rarities. Dandelions on the attack state will go farther than normal petals.

Strategy[]
- Dandelions cripple opponents they hit by disabling their healing. However, because its ability is limited to units that heal over time, it's almost useless, only being good in Hel PvP and Ocean for reasons that will be addressed on their respective strategy sections.
- Due to its mechanic not functioning on other zones because mobs there lack weakness, Desert, Ant Hell, Jungle and Sewers won't be shown here, and Garden is going to be limited on obtaining this petal, Hel wil be limited to PvP and Ocean will be limited to countering its only PvE counter.
Garden: Obtaining[]
- It's pretty much obvious what mob drops this: Dandelion. Farming lower rarity Dandelions will be better if you can't handle high rarity zones, but going to the spiral and similar places can be rewarding if you can kill the mobs there.
- Remember that higher rarity Dandelions will hit harder with their little Dandelions, potentially killing you, and even if you don't die, your healing will be crippled, allowing for other mobs to kill you. Using a Basil might counter or neutralize this.
Ocean
- The healing of a Starfish is very powerful, especially at higher rarities. While beginner players will find trouble starting from Legendary rarity, intermediates will have a hard time with the Mythic rarity, and finally, all players will get overwhelmed by the Ultra+ rarity. While Dandelion doesn't completely disable its heals, 20% is quite a lot, maybe just enough to take down Legendary and Mythic rarities (if you have the DPS). Plus, if you have Mythic+ Dandelions, it can go to 40% and even 60% at Ultra+ due to multiple Dandelions in one slot (80% with the Duplicator Talent). While using Dandelions against Mythic- Starfish is almost obligatory (especially if you don't have enough DPS to kill them), Ultra and Super Starfish will only die with Dandelion debuffs (due to their massive heals).
- It should be noted that a Starfish under the influence of a Dandelion does not retreat since they can't heal as well. Keep this in mind and be prepared to flee from the fight if it locks onto you.
Hel: PvP[]
Using[]
- Dandelion is best paired with petals that can cause poison damage, especially Iris and Pincer. Dandelion's ability to reduce healing, combined with poison damage, can potentially stress an enemy flower and reduce large amount of health.
- Dandelion is meant to be a support petal and does not do much damage on its own, thus, players should equip other petals that help to deal adequate damage.
- Dandelion can also be paired with glass petals like Stinger, as the massive damage they deal can't be fully healed.
- Using Mythic Dandelions will cripple healing to 40%, while Ultra and Super Dandelions will cripple to 60%, and the Duplicator Talent on the latter two rarities can further debuff to 80%. It's preferred to upgrade the Duplicator Talent as 80% is almost a 100% debuff, where you can simply use a Legendary- Dandelion or hit the target again to fully disable the opponent's heals.
- Keep in mind the debuff lasts half as long as against PvE, so you'll have to use Dandelions twice as often.
- This petal is the best counter to players who spam Leaves, Roses or Starfish, since it cripples their main form of going back to fight.
- Should you cripple someone, be prepared to play a game of catch-up: crippled flowers will stall their enemy and run away from them until they are able to heal themselves normally.
Against[]
- You should try to use wall petals like Heavy to avoid getting hit by a Dandelion, or Missile/Wing to attack the user while maintaining distance from them (and avoiding getting crippled by one).
- Be prepared to use Basil to buff healing petals and neutralize a Dandelion the most you can. This won't work if said healing petals have been debuffed for 60% or more.
- Also, carrying Lotus to soak poison damage or carrying Cotton/Sponge to soak/absorb all other damage while in this crippled state might help you survive longer.
- Don't underestimate this petal. Even the smallest (20%) debuff can kill you if your opponent outdamages your heal.
- Using Dandelion yourself to cripple the enemy user is going to help you keep in fighting them, as both will end up healing the same amount of damage once crippled.
- Be sure to reorganize your plans and ideas if you get crippled. Ram builds, for example, will be more crippled than Ranged builds.

Trivia[]
- This used to be one of the two shootable petals with the other one being Missile, and one of the five triggerable petals, with the others being Missile, Peas, Epic Peas (modern-day Grapes) and Legendary Peas (a bigger version of Epic Peas which hasn't been fully restored as of now). However, it was nerfed to being a normal, non-shooting orbiting petal, and has since then "replaced" with Carrot.
- A similar case happened to Honey: it used to be just a normal orbiting petal, but its overhaul for new florr.io allowed it to be droppable like Ankh.
- It looks similar to a white and black Basic Tank from diep.io, created by the same creator of florr.io, M28. However, Dandelion has a rounded handle instead of a rectangular one, and it's unknown if it's an intended reference or not.
- Dandelions have 10 Dandelion petals stuck around it, distributed evenly. They also cripple your healing petals for 20%. Once hit, they're shooted out like legacy florr Dandelions.
- This is one of the many petals that are dropped by a mob of the same name. The others are: Bubble, Cactus, Ant Egg, Jelly (partially), Rock, Shell, Sponge, Square and Starfish. In this, it's the Dandelion Mob.
- Dandelion, Bubble, Rock, Ant Egg (as it was the old Epic Egg), Cactus and Square all come from legacy florr.io.
- However, Dandelion, Bubble and Ant Egg received their mob counterparts only after legacy florr.io ended. Dandelions couldn't even appear during the Waves period, only being added in Maze.
- Dandelion, Bubble, Rock, Ant Egg (as it was the old Epic Egg), Cactus and Square all come from legacy florr.io.
- Dandelion, Basil and Amulet are the only petals who alter healing petals. Dandelion is the only one to do so negatively.
- Before an unknown date, Mythic Dandelion used to have 3 Dandelions, but now it only has 2.
- It still has 3 if you have the Duplicator talent.
- In legacy florr, Dandelion used to be dropped at Rare rarity. However, it was originally dropped at Epic when added before it was changed to what it was. This and Square (which went from Unusual to Legendary and finally to Unique when said rarity existed) were the only petals to change rarities in legacy florr.
- Dandelion used to disable all healing (100% debuff) before being nerfed.
- The first clause of its description is reminiscent from its legacy incarnation, thus, still accounts for when the Dandelion fully disabled healing. The second clause was added with the nerf, which means both clauses contradict each other (although the 100% debuff can still be achieved due to Dandelion's stacking capacity.
- Mythic Dandelion's extra Dandelion will bw facing 180º (opposite direction) relative to the one to the right (found in Legendary- rarities, whose facing direction is conserved).
- Ultra and Super Dandelions' previous Dandelions will be facing 60° to the East relative to their Mythic counterpart, while the new Dandelion will be facing 120° to the West relative to a Legendary- Dandelion. All of these combined form an equilateral triangle with their black sticks.
- Finally, Ultra and Super Dandelions under the effect of the Duplicator Talent will have the following characteristics: the bottom Dandelion will face the same direction as the one without the talent, the right Dandelion will turn another 60° to the East (totaling 120° to the East), the left Dandelion will turn around 30° to the West (totaling 90° to the West, or exactly in a perpendicular direction compared to a Legendary- Dandelion) and the top Dandelion (added with the Duplicator Talent) will be facing around 30° to the West relative to a Legendary- Dandelion. All of these combined form a Square.
- Ultra and Super Dandelions' previous Dandelions will be facing 60° to the East relative to their Mythic counterpart, while the new Dandelion will be facing 120° to the West relative to a Legendary- Dandelion. All of these combined form an equilateral triangle with their black sticks.
- When the player is on the attack state, Dandelions go farther than any other petal except Wing and shootable petals, likely to mitigate the nerf that made it not shootable anymore.
