Dice is a petal from florr.io. It has a 5 percent chance of dealing 35x damage, with the chance increasing with either Clover or each stack of the Luck Talent added. The Dice is dropped by Gamblers and Hel Beetles.

Appearance[]

The Dice is a white square with a variable amount of pips (the black dots) on it, and can change between 1-6 pips around every 0.5 seconds. When changing, the amount of pips will twitch and circle before changing to another amount of pips (e.g. 3 to 4). If the game rolls the same pip twice, the Dice won't change appearances nor the pip number will twitch/circle, and a new pip amount will happen in the next 0.5 seconds as usual.

The Dice looks pretty basic but also hard-hitting. However , its special mechanic is that, if the petal touches an enemy entity, it will have a 5% chance of inflicting 35x the base damage of the current rarity Dice. The 5% chance will be increased by 4% with each point gained from either Clover or the Luck Talent. This extra function stat is hidden to you, but Dice can completely bypass Armor, Cotton and Sponge if it rolls a critical hit.

Strategy[]

  • Dice, as the game implies, works best with Clover, as if you get to a full Luck point, Dice will get 2.8% ( Ultra Clover ) or 3.2% ( Super Clover ) more chance of dealing critical damage, for a total of 7.8% ( Ultra Clover ) or 8.2% ( Super Clover ). This will be added to 11% ( Ultra Clover ) or 11.4% ( Super Clover ) if you manage to get another point from upgrading the Luck Talent.

Garden

  • DPS Builds with Dice and Clover will have a low but reliable chance of killing mobs very quickly. This is extra useful when Bees and Spiders are dangerously close to you, due to their high body damage (and the Spider's poison damage). However, the Hornet missiles might screw your chance at landing critical hits on the mobs that you should.

Desert

  • While Sandstorms are added to the list of perfect subjects to hit critical alongside Beetles and Scorpions (always making sure to not let Dice hit the last mob's stingers), it will mean nothing if you happen to die from its super high body damage (even accidentally). Make sure to have someone use Yggdrasil on you, or use Disc to reduce body damage taken, or even Soil to prevent getting pulled from Ultra+ Sandstorms.

Ocean

  • Dice's useful for lots of mobs here, besides normal usage against Jellyfish and Shells: Crabs that attempt to ram into you will take some damage from it, and if it happens to be a critical hit, they'll suffer massively from trying to kill you. Leeches will be quickly obliterated before they kill you if you are lucky, and hitting critical hits might help you kill Starfish before they start to get their healing phase (and also kill them during said state, though bringing Dandelion with you is always advisable).

Ant Hell

  • While the Dice is not particularly strong against any mob here, it can serve you well if you're overwhelmed. Another use for the Dice is hoping for a critical hit against Termites, as the 35x damage will be spread to every close Termite due to Psyonic Connection, massively damaging all eligible Termites at once for you to kill them quicker. Dice can also kill Queen Ants, Queen Fire Ants and Termite Overminds with it's critical hits.

Hel

Using[]

  • By themselves, Dice are a nice petal: not too strong but not too weak. However, they can prove to cause major problems against other players, because their 35x critical damage is pretty huge and can instantly kill a handful of flowers if you do manage to land hits on them.
    • Whether you're using one or multiple Dice, your go-to strategy should be carrying ond Clover with you, as well as maybe Bur to reduce one's Armor and damage them even more (not applicable to critical hits).
  • Dice have an unique ability of bypassing Armor and the absorbing abilities of Cottons and Sponges when it manages to land a critical hit. This means that Dice have the potential to heavily nuke players in PvP, even if they try absorbing damage, though this requires quite the luck. For a more reliable nuking strategy, try to use Ultra+ Stingers or Tomatoes.
  • On PvE, this will benefit best against Gamblers, Hel Beetles and Hel Spiders, both on normal hits and critical hits, letting you kill them faster before they end you and your run.

Against[]

  • There are four ways to deal with a Dice (specially Dice+Clover+Luck Talent and landing critical hits): Psyonic Connection through Relic, using Talisman of Evasion, using Cactus + Third Eye builds and maintaining distance from them using Missile, Wing and similar. However, Relic requires squad members (and might heavily damage all of them anyways), while Talismans have pretty low chances of evasion if you're unlucky (though it stacks and has a higher chance than a critical hit unassisted by Luck points). Using Cactus + Third Eye and maintaining distance from this petal is better, as the former gives you more HP to survive against a critical hit and heal you quickly from one, while the latter will let you damage a Dice user from afar before it hits you.
  • Do not use high-health petals like Heavy or Corn against the Dice as it will destroy them in just a few critical hits.
  • Remember that Clovers are weak by themselves, so try to target them to open a weak spot to kill the flower and not die from the Dice. Also, beware of any Burs they might bring.
  • Cotton and Sponge will not be effective against Dice if it rolls a critical hit: you'll get the full damage output, rendering these petals useless against the Dice. Also, be sure not to bring Root as Armor is also bypassed.
  • Watch out against the Super Dice, it's critical hit will do extremely high damage that might be too much for even Relic, Cactus, Soil or Disc to handle.
    • Even if you have the Second Chance talent, you must still be careful as the Super Dice could critical hit you again, finishing you off.

Obtaining[]

  • Gamblers will heavily damage you, not only with their own Dice-Clover build, but also with the Cards and Chips it may carry. Don't forget to stay away from them and hit them from afar with petals like Wing or Third Eye.
  • Hel Beetles can be equally dangerous. Their decently good damage combined with their teleporting ability can spell trouble on you.
  • Gamblers can be less annoying than Hel Beetles and drop Dice far more frequently at higher rarities. They should be your target if you can handle them, but killing Hel Beetles is not too bad as they're more abundant.

Jungle

  • Dice can naturally damage Leafbugs, but their critical hits will severely cripple them to the point not even their Armor can save them.
  • Besides Leafbugs, this can also be good with Termite Overminds in Termite Mounds, or Ultra+ Bushes.

Sewers

  • For all of the reasons Dice works against Spiders (which also happen to return here), Dice also works with Flies, Moths and Roaches.

Trivia[]

  • The florr.io Dice has 6 faces: each individual face has a certain amount of pips (one face has one pip, another face has two pips, and so on until the last face has all six pips). The player can't visually see the other five faces without the aid of the constantly changing pips.
    • Despite the presence of dice with even more faces (or even less), in-game Dice just show a singular face implying it has 6 total faces, likely due to simplification issues as florr.io is a 2D game with a cartoonish and simple style, not being able to show 3D forms or an in-game Dice with more faces.
    • The Dice's pip numbers don't affect its critical hit chance.
  • The Dice originally had a 10 percent chance of dealing 10x damage, until M28 halved the chance and buffed critical hit by three and a half times.
  • This petal is the first petal to have its stats (in this case, DPS) affected by RNG. The other petal, also a Hel petal, is Card, which randomly spawns on other Suits (each having different damage/durability stats).
    • Dice, Card and Glass are the only petals to always change appearance, regardless of rarity (although Dice changes faces every 0.5 seconds, while Card changes Suits every respawn and finally, Glass changes appearances every time it's equipped). The petal closest to meet this condition is the Poker Chip (also a Hel petal) which changes appearance every time it reaches a new rarity.
      • All three Hel petals are associated with RNG: Dice has a chance to land critical hits as well as a random chance to change to a certain number of pips, Card gets a random suit upon respawn and Chip is known for the luck associated with Plinko .
  • Dice has the highest damage potential due to its critical hit, mechanic, outclassing Claw by about 3 times.
    • Unique Dice's critical hit can one-shot most Ultra mobs, as Unique Dice's critical hit does 2,296,350 damage.
  • This petal was added unannounced in the Changelog.
  • The first Super Dice was acquired by Manfred, who bought it for 1.5M Stars.
  • Dice has one of the highest theoretical DPS, even equalling to ones found from Rice + Yin Yang or ram builds. With a fully upgraded Luck Talent tree and an Ultra Clover, a single Mythic Dice will deal on average 10862 damage per hit on an Ultra mob.
  • This is the only petal to be buffed by another petal which only boosts a single petal, which is Clover.
    • The Clover-Dice interaction, the Ant Egg-Relic interaction and the Compass-Magnet interaction are the only interactions in the entire game to happen between only two petals. All other interactions are more generalized (for example, Basil and healing petals).
  • At some point, Hel Wasps were able to drop Dice, until it was changed to drop Chips instead.
  • This, Card, Chip and Corruption are the only petals exclusive to Hel.
  • The first Unique Dice was acquired by Pehiley, who bought 5 Super dice for a total of 15 million stars.
  • This, Air, Card, Chip, Compass, Corruption, Dahlia and Rose have the highest drop chance of any Ultra petal: 64.3%.
    • All mentioned petals plus Missile, and Pollen are the only petals to have a higher chance to drop at Ultra rarity (64.3% for said petals, 58.4% for Missile and Pollen) than at Mythic rarity (35.7% for said petals minus Compass and Corruption, 41.6% for Missile and Pollen) by the Super rarity variation of the mob that drops this (Gambler for the Hel petals, Bubble Mob for Air, Termite Overmind for Compass, Shiny Ladybug for Dahlia and Rose, Hel Wasp and Wasp for Missile and Bumble Bee for Pollen).
    • In the case of the Hel petals, it's due to the fact that Gamblers are pretty rare and strong.
