Faster is a legacy petal from florr.io added on the February 7th, 2020 update. It makes the user's other petals spin faster, hence the name. The Faster is dropped by Leeches and Spiders.

Appearance[]

The Faster looks nearly identical to the Light petal, except that it is slightly more yellow: It is a small, yellowish-white circle with a yellowish-gray outline.

Function[]

Petal Stats

Legendary 972 405 +1.3 rad/s
Mythic 2916 1215 +1.5 rad/s
Ultra 5832 3645 +1.7 rad/s
Super 26244 10935 +1.9 rad/s
Unique 78732 32805 +2.1 rad/s

The Faster's ability consists of increasing the rotation speed of your other petals. Multiple Fasters further increase it, which means it stacks with itself. The Faster also appears to be "twitching", never staying still on its orbit but making strange movements.

Strategy[]

  • Fasters are a very important petal, because they greatly increase the effectiveness of other petals by increasing the frequency at which they can hit a target. This petal can be used alone, but the petal is more effective when combined with other petals due to its speed buff. Faster is best paired with Light or Sand, as the number of petals surrounding the player, combined with quicker movement and fast regeneration, can easily mow down most enemies. This build is known as the Deathwheel and is good in pretty much every scenario.
  • Fasters are effective to use with Stingers as well. The high speed makes the Stingers nearly impossible to dodge, though they have a lengthy cooldown so you might want to watch out for that.
  • Fasters can also be paired with high health petals such as the Corn, the Heavy and the Rock. These petals do not die quickly and the Faster can increase their DPS as well. Be warned though, the high health petal may die quicker if they are hitting things more frequently, which then cause said petal to go into a lengthy cooldown and open a spot in your defenses.
  • Fasters should be avoided when using ranged petals such as Carrot, Dandelion, Missile and Web. Not only is the rotation boost ineffective once the petal is fired, but it makes them harder to aim. However, if you're skilled and have great aiming skills, you can use them together because the shootable petals will get quicker into the position you want them to be.
  • Using Third Eye will be beneficial as the rapid petals will be given more range to kill any mob or safely take care of any ranged mob.

Obtaining[]

  • Spiders are better targets than Leeches, as the latter has more chances of killing you despite not wielding poison damage. Try using Fasters to defeat them as well.
  • Remember that Spiders have poison damage. Bring in Lotus with you so you can withstand more of the poison.

Garden

  • Fasters in general are great against Ant Holes, Centipedes and Spiders, because they can quickly shred through multiple Ants or multiple segments, as well as avoid getting poisoned or just kill all of the mentioned mobs faster and safer.
  • Fasters are also pretty viable against Hornets too, though the player must get close to the Hornet for it to work. Try to use Plank to kill the missiles before you take too much damage from them.

Desert

  • Fasters are essential in Desert because DPS is very important here, thus, Fasters are strongly encouraged in Desert scenarios. Beetles, Beetles, Desert Centipede and Soldier Fire Ants and Scorpions will all rapidly get killed before they damage you enough (though consider bringing Lotus for the Scorpion stingers), and Cacti and Sandstorms will be killed easier than normal.
    • Since plenty of mobs move pretty fast (or just so you can be sure), it's best to have a teammate shoot Webs onto a mob to slow them down, making it easier to kill them with Fasters. If you want to use Web yourself, remember that shootable petals will need more precision due to them spinning quicker.
    • Remember that this doesn't fully solve a Sandstorm's biggest strength: body damage. Bring Discs if you don't want to risk dying to them, or mantain a considerable distance from them with ranged petals.

Ocean

  • The Deathwheel build does not do pretty good in Ocean. Jellyfish may strike the player from far away before anything can deal damage. Starfish can be killed, but without quick burst damage or Dandelions, it'll take a few seconds.
  • Fasters by themselves are still able to do well against killing those mobs, Leeches and Crabs quicker.

Ant Hell

  • Using Fasters and Deathwheel Builds will allow you to destroy Ants (and specially Termites) in no time. Using Third Eye will give a boost to that as you have less chances of getting rammed, which is essential against the double-damaging Fire Ants.

Hel

Using[]

  • Fasters make petals harder to dodge and can increase DPS. However, they should be paired with high damage petals such as Sand or Stinger since Fasters by themselves deal little damage.
  • Deathwheel builds hold their ground in the meta, as they can deal a considerable amount of damage, specially when paired with Third Eye, Iris or the likes.
  • Fasters also do good against Hel mobs, allowing you to quickly kill Hel Beetles, Hel Centipedes and Hel Spiders without worrying too much, as well as tanking Hel Wasp missiles.

Against[]

  • Your best bet should be using petals like Heavy or Corn against Deathwheels, as you can both tank a Deathwheel build and damage (or even kill) the user. You may want to watch out for those petals' prolonged cooldown timers.
  • Using Fasters to counter Fasters is not a bad idea, as they technically nullify each other buffing both players. Pair this with glass petals to kill the flower without taking too much damage.
  • You're probably going to get quickly weakened as a rammer, because Fasters and Deathwheel builds may outdamage your healing petals.

Jungle

  • Fasters and Deathwheels do nothing against Leafbugs unless you bring Bur or stronger petals to deal with them
  • Fasters are still good contenders for Termite Mound fights, Mantises and Wasps, killing them quicker.

Sewers

  • As all enemies there are melee fighters, Fasters and Deathwheels will thrive here. Beware of Roaches, though.

Trivia[]

  • Faster, Basic, Heavy and Light are petals named after adjectives, rather than substantives. They are the only petals to have that characteristic, and all four are from legacy florr.io.
    • In legacy florr, the same petals have that same characteristic: Basic, Fast (renamed to Light), Faster, Heaviest (renamed to Heavy) and Heavy (which is technically removed if you don't count the new Heavy).
  • Faster and Heavy are the only petals to mess with the speed of your petals' orbit. Faster speeds it, while Heavy slows it. Moon Rock has a totally different mechanic, but still revolves around the flower slowly.
  • Faster was inspired from the old Fast, and its description technically predicted the Fast renaming to Light.
  • Eight legacy Yin Yang petals, known as the Taijitu太極圖 Build, are the only other petal that can increase rotation speed. Using 8 yin yangs boosts rotation speed to about 15.6 radians a second. Compared to the legacy default 3 radians per second, this is a boost of about 12.6 (4π) rads per second. Now, 10 Super Fasters boost rotation speed by 19 radians per second giving a total of 23 rads per second and granting the fastest rotation speed in the game with the Legendary Petal Rotation Talent unlocked.
  • The Mythic variant consisted of 2 Fasters before the rework. The Mythic Faster was then changed to a Basic-sized Faster with the same stats as a Mythic Basic. Currently, the Mythic Faster no longer has any visual changes.
  • Before the January 29th update on legacy florr, it had the second shortest respawn in game together with Fast (0.8 seconds), whereas the first was Rice with 0.04 seconds (although current Rice has a reload of 0.1 seconds).
  • On legacy florr.io, Fasters used to drop at Rare Rarity by Queen Ants, Soldier Ants and Spiders before waves florr.io was added and made it only droppable by Leeches and Spiders.
  • Faster and Petal Rotation talent can greatly increase the dps of most build, especially deathwheel build.
  • using full faster makes your petals spin weirdly, and makes them stay close to you. However, a cool mechanic is that if you get close enough to a mob or any target, the fasters will swing towards the mob when on the side that the target is on from your flower, and is pretty fun to use. Pairing with third eye makes it reach even further.
