This page is about the normal grapes. For the magic variant, see Blueberries.

Grapes are a legacy petal from florr.io, rereleased on the August 31st, 2022 update after being originally added on the February 5th, 2020 update. They can be split into 4 different projectiles that deal poison damage on impact.

Appearance[]

Grapes are consisted of a purple-colored version of the Peas, with four small peas (or grapes) composing it. The number can increase to 5 with the Duplicator Talent.

Function[]

Note: The "A + B" respawn format means that the petal takes A seconds to respawn and B seconds after respawning to do its special action/have its special action enabled.

Unique 19683 (x4) 32805 (x4) 111537 (159k/s) (x4)

Grapes function exactly like Peas, but as their description implies, they deal poison damage, much like an Iris. When they haven't been triggered yet, they act as a singular separate Grape projectile instead of all four at once.

Strategy[]

  • Grapes are straight up upgraded variations of Peas, whereas Grapes don't have any downs compared to Peas except maybe in terms of obtainment: Evil Centipedes can only spawn in Jungle, whereas normal Peas can be obtained both in Garden (by Centipedes) and in Jungle (by Mantises). Peas also do more damage right away than Grapes can.
  • Multiple Grapes should not be picked for the poison stat, as it doesn't stack. Instead, either bring other petals with you, or pick more Grapes for a better chance at hitting multiple mobs.
  • When other mobs are too close to you, Grapes are decent melee fighters and can still cause poison damage, but it's best if you switch to other petals as soon as possible, since unified Grapes will deal the damage of a singular Grape projectile.
  • Just like all other poisonous petals, carrying a Privet with you lets you deal a bit more damage to any poisoned mobs.
  • This is benefitted by the Duplicator Talent since Grapes gain one more Grape (for a total of 5) for more enemies to be hit at once.
  • Use Grapes especially when you are SURROUNDED by mobs. Grapes are literally useless when you can't target anything.
  • This petal is useful when used alongside Peas, because their abilities complement each other and will quickly destroy weaker mobs and damage the stronger ones.

Garden

  • Grapes can be used to defeat the swarm of Ants formed by multiple Ant Holes from all directions. They also hold their ground dealing with Centipedes, specially those with a lot of segments or Centipede s that surrounded you.
  • Grapes don't go so well against Hornets or Spiders. Hornets can block your Grapes with their missiles and such, while Spiders are tanky, fast and can kill you in no time.
    • Using high rarity Grapes against Super Hornets isn't too much of a bad idea, because it can deal with the spawned Hornets pretty good. The same can be applied to Super Rocks.

Desert

  • Grapes are kind of bad in Desert because Irises drop there. Note that Privets are no longer droppable, meaning that Grapes can only be hurt by other petals in Desert.
  • This is good against Desert Centipedes and Sandstorms surrounding you, but they might catch you on surprise and kill you (gradually or instantly), so bring passive heals with you and Disc and/or Rubber. Also beware to not aggro too many Beetles or Scorpions in the process.
  • They're decent against Beetles, because they're worse Spiders. They're also pretty good against Scorpions if you bring a counter to them like Lotus, because Scorpions will always crawl around you, they will give you a chance to hit them with Grapes, poisoning them, for as long as you take care of its stingers and poison damage.
  • They also do good against Soldier Fire Ants, as their double damage don't hurt the Grapes' utility a lot, as well as Grapes being able to hit multiple of them at once..

Ocean

  • Grapes will aggro a high amount of dangerous mobs: Jellyfish, Leeches and Ultra+ Shells, which can all spell big trouble on you. They also can't do much in melee combat before you're already dead. At most, Crabs are the weakest to it, and it's not by much (as it behaves like a ramming Scorpion).
  • Although they may aggro too much mobs on you, they might be useful for Air, Bubble and Sponge farming, since hitting multiple targets may aid you in killing Bubble Mobs and Sponge Mobs alike.

Ant Hell

  • Grapes are useful for Ant Egg farming (against Ant Egg Mobs) to aggro many Ants/Termites (be sure to not die in the process). They're also useful to deal a lot of damage to many Termites at once (thouhh it's kind of weak), but this doesn't fare well against any of the Ant Hell Bosses.

Hel

Using[]

  • Again, using Grapes is dangerous here, as aggroing many Hel mobs might end your run, although this can deal with Hel Centipedes and Hel Wasps pretty well.
  • On PvP, be sure to bring one or two Grapes and a Privet with you. A lot of Grapes isn't needed if you don't want to aggro mobs/have crowd control, and this petal is still weak by itself, so you're better off using other petals.

Against[]

  • Grapes are weak, even with Privet. Just avoid them regularly, and you're good to go. If you do get hit (which actually isn't difficult) you can bring Lotus with you, though passive heals will also do the job just fine.
  • Grapes can be targeted as a weak spot to reach and damage/kill the flower with relative ease. Just beware of any other dangerous petals the Grapes user may carry.

Jungle

  • Leafbugs are nearly immune to this, unless you use Bur against them. Still, Grapes are very weak petals, so don't even bother using this.
  • They are pretty decent against Mantises (specially when they're on cooldown) and Wasps, but always make sure to dodge their projectiles.
  • They can be quite useful against Termite Mounds if you can survive aggroing them.

Obtaining[]

  • Evil Centipedes are actually one of the easiest mobs to fight in Jungle. Grapes themselves are good to kill them.
  • Use Lightning to damage multiple segments so you can kill it easier and quicker before you get overwhelmed. If you're on a ramming build, try Battery instead.
  • Evil Centipedes actually don't do poison damage, or have strong body damage. You shouldn't have a hard time killing them.

Sewers

  • Three of the mobs here are dangerous when you're using Grapes: Flies are unpredictable, Roaches are extremely quick and Spiders can catch up to you easily and deal poison damage to you. All of them can kill you without any warning. At least Flies and Moths are somewhat weak in terms of HP.

Trivia[]

  • Around the May 2024 update, Grapes' poison damage was buffed.
  • Grapes are a recurring petal from the old Epic Peas in legacy florr.io that acted the same as the current Grapes and was only available rarity is Epic. This petal was a poisnous variation on the Rare Peas that acted the same as the current Peas, and the old Epic Peas had a Legendary variant called the Legendary Peas, which was an enlarged version of the old Epic Peas.
    • At first, normal and poisonous Peas were separated from each other. Then, during the new florr.io until an update, they were the same line of petals, whereas Rare+ Peas were poisonous while Unusual- Peas were normal. Finally, after the August 30th, 2022 update, they were separated into different lineages again, and the poisonous lineage got renamed to "Grapes" (while Rare+ Peas are normal again). Existing Peas turned into Grapes once said update went live.
    • Grapes' description is a mix of the new Peas with the old Epic Peas: the second clause is exactly like the latter, while the first clause is "It goes poof", which replaced the "4 in 1 deal." found in the all of the legacy Peas.
    • A bigger variation of Grapes is yet to return, since even though Legendary+ Grapes exist, none of them are as big as the old Legendary Grapes.
      • Epic and Legendary Peas from legacy florr.io were already dropped from Evil Centipedes. However, Epic Peas had a pretty low chance to be dropped by normal Centipedes (although Rare Peas dropped from it, too).
    • Its new name comes from what the fanbase used to call this petal: because they looked purple, old Epic/Legendary Peas were called by the community Grapes.
  • They are the second petal to be based on a fruit, with the first being Orange and the third being Tomato. However, due to the reasons presented above, they're technically the first. (Peas, which are this petal's base, are botanically a fruit, not a vegetable, as they are most commonly thought of.)
  • If Grapes are not triggered, they will be considered one singular petal and will have the same stats as one grape projectile.
