Hel is an area in florr.io. It is the only area that spawns Hel Beetles, Hel Spiders, Hel Centipedes, Hel Wasps and Gamblers. It is also the only place in the game where PvP is enabled, unless someone is using Corruption outside Hel.

You cannot craft here, as the menu is replaced with Plinko. You used to be able to Squad here, but an update at some point in late 2024 removed that ability. You are completely on your own here, and Yggdrasil is useless.

Appearance[]

The background is similar to the sand texture, but tinted red. The walls are simply dirt. The map resembles an upside down star where in each sides has their own rarity of spawning mobs.

Overview[]

Hel cannot be accessed through portals. To enter Hel for the first time, you must die and be revived with a Dark Mark.

The area has 5 special zones on each sides of the star shaped area, where each zones would spawn mobs at certain rarities.

  • Common and Unusual mobs spawns in the center of the map.
  • Rare mobs spawns at the top-left side of the map.
  • Epic mobs spawns at the bottom side of the map.
  • Legendary mobs spawns at the top-right side of the map.
  • Mythic mobs spawns at the left side of the map.
  • Ultra+ mobs spawns at the right side of the map.

The only mobs that spawn here are Hel Beetles, Hel Spiders, Hel Centipedes, Hel Wasps and Gamblers.

Score[]

Score given now can be gained through mobs XP Reward. Killing another player gives you 50% of their score, while killing mobs give a predetermined amount of score.

Strategy[]

Hel Beetles have high speed, body damage, and HP, but what makes them deadly is that they can teleport to your position. This is telegraphed by a red pentagram appearing where the Beetle will spawn, so it is wise to use Bubble or Shovel in your builds to avoid them.

Hel Spiders have decently high speed, though with high poison damage (double that of regular Spiders) and spawn frequently, It is recommended to use Pincers, because Webs don't work on Spider variations. Beside having much health, damage and poison damage, strategies applied to normal Spiders also applied here.

Hel Centipedes behave much like Jungle Centipedes. They are relatively easy to kill, but try not to be overwhelmed by other mobs or other segments. They seem to be quite fast.

Hel Wasps are arguably the most dangerous mob in Hel, as they have many missiles that are spread out like a shotgun, which makes them hard to attack without being pelted by Missiles. As you approach a Hel Wasp, it will start to recoil away as it attacks, which can make them hard to get to, and they don't turn around to shoot as their counterpart Wasp, which makes them less predictable. It is recommended to use Plank to protect against projectiles. Going in a straight line at the Hel wasp when it attacks you also somewhat lessen your chances of getting hit by its projectiles for some reason.

Gamblers have high health and body damage, and use Dice, Cards, Clover and Chips. They are the most targeted mobs in Hel because they have very good drop rates and a very high XP reward. Though that also makes looting a Super+ Gambler extremely hard as fights are prolonged and players will kill each other by accident or deliberately to increase their chance of obtaining loot.

Global PvP is on, so beware of other players, although the vast majority can't get into an actual fight without dying to Legendary+ Hel Mobs or other players. Only strong players with Sponge and Super petals, or skilled players with Ultra petals can survive for long here.

Sometimes, there aren’t many players (or even none at all) so one has to be careful, as the Hel variants mentioned can swarm you, very big Mythic/Ultra swarms in fact as many players won't clear the already present swarm which only accumulates over time and only gets noticed by Super hunters if the swarm becomes too much of a nuisance, even then it's not guaranteed that hunters will clear them as it's very hard even with collaborative effort.

Using Jelly, it is possible to AFK in Hel due to Jelly's knockback function. Poo is also useful because it reduces mob aggro, increasing the range where you can move around without getting aggravated. But generally as Hel mobs are way stronger than their normal counterparts and players sometimes just kills you, you won't be able to AFK here for that long before dying, beside AFK here doesn't really means anything since the entire map is connected in a way that makes it very easy to traverse and it is really easy to get back to where you are after respawning. AFK farming here is also a terrible idea.

Trivia[]

  • All mobs in Hel only spawn in Hel, so Hel is the only area where Poker Chip, Card, Dice, Corruption and Dark Mark can be obtained, along with Basic from player.
  • Hel mobs also have much higher health and damage stat compared to normal mob they're based off.
  • Previously, Magnet did not work in Hel. It now functions as supposed to, but Basic is not affected by it, death petal attraction and Magnetism talent.
  • This currently is the only area except PvP and Termite Mounds in the game without any portal connections to other areas or maps.
  • This is also the only area other than PvP where full PvP is enabled.
    • However, since PvP was removed, Hel is now the only area with full PvP enabled.
    • Factory separates players in two team, enabling PvP against each other, but not against everybody.
  • This area is likely based on gambling due to the Gamblers, Plinko and the petals that can be dropped here.
  • Yggdrasil and spamming "YGG" doesn't really work in Hel as you probably only want to respawn near a Super anyways and since global PvP is enabled, no one will be bother to revive you.
  • The word "Hel" originates from Norse mythology where the world under the Yggdrasil tree is called Hel, same as their purpose.
  • This area includes these drops: Basic, Mark, Dice, Third Eye, Poker Chip, Card, Missile and Beetle Egg.
  • You can afk via using Jelly or Eggs as it can avoid the mobs from being able to reach you, Though, when using just Jelly, there is a risk of players killing you while you afk.
  • In May 27th, 2024, 2 new petals have been added, Poker Chip and Card. This update also made it possible to spawn in Hel without being Marked.
  • In May 28th 2024, the map was changed to a star shape of Dark Mark.
  • Gamblers spawn in Hel, possibly a reference to "Gamblers belong in hell."
  • Mark can revive you in Hel.
  • Hel may be under the influence of Corruption.
