The Honey is a legacy petal in florr.io added on March 4th, 2020. It can be thrown away from the flower, and once it sticks to the ground, it attracts mobs to itself. The Honey is dropped by Bees and Bumble Bees.

Appearance[]

The Honey is a yellow rounded hexagon with a dark yellow outline. It resembles a honeycomb but it doesn't have any internal lines.

Function[]

Note: The "A + B" respawn format means that the petal takes A seconds to respawn and B seconds after respawning to do its special action/have its special action enabled.

The Honey can be triggered by a left or a right click, which causes it to stick to the ground. When it enters that state, it will attract most mobs, but the more it attracts, the more immunity mobs develop to it. A Honey of one rarity always attracts a mob of the same rarity minus one.

Strategy[]

  • The Honey draws mobs to itself, which is good for both luring mobs you need to kill and distracting other mobs so that they don't aggro on you and end up killing you. However, be sure to be able to counter the mobs or the Honey might die easily and the mobs will shred you anyways.
  • It's more viable than Bulb due to its property of attracting mobs away from your location, but less viable than Uranium because it doesn't damage them in the process (even though Uranium deals self damage).

Garden

  • This can be used to lure Centipedes and Spiders away from you, or spawned Ants from an Ant Hole if you're attacking it from a distance. However, Hornets can't be pulled by it, so take care.
  • A good strategy should be using Ant Egg, Beetle Egg or Stick near the location of the Honey, so all aggroed mobs will end up ramming the friendly summons.

Obtaining[]

  • While Bees are dangerous when you aggro them, Bumble Bees have a quick and unpredictable movement which could kill you instantly if you don't take care. Just avoid getting on a Bee's zigzag, and you'll be good. Use Jelly if all else fails.

Desert

  • Honey will temporarily turn Beetles and Scorpions away from you so you don't need to flee from them or dodge their stingers. Desert Centipedes will also be pulled and won't immediately turn to fight you. It can also help in finding Shiny Ladybugs for a chance at getting Yggdrasil.
  • Sandstorms are immune to this due to their random movements (and because they're not sentient beings).

Ocean

  • Like Desert, Honey can be used to distract Crabs and Leeches so their special abilities won't bother you as much.
  • Jellyfish are immune to this, and their lightning discharges may still hit you.

Ant Hell

  • Honey will die pretty quickly because this area has many Ant/Termite swarms, but it can still give you some distraction time against them.

Hel

Using[]

  • This has no effect on PvP, as flowers aren't bots, but rather, controlled by real humans.
  • This can be used to either distract the Hel mobs (whose special abilities are very dangerous, including Hel Beetles) or create a shield of mobs against other players, but be sure to not die by said "shield".

Against[]

  • This has no effect on you. Ignore it accordingly.
  • Try to avoid the mob shield that the Honey may generate, or deal with it if you can't avoid.

Jungle

Sewers

  • It's not advised to bring Honey onto Sewers, because Roaches are too quick (despite being neutral) and could do serious harm to you. It still could help bringing Moths to your location before they run away.

Trivia[]

  • Like how Eggs and a Stick generally summon a friendly mob of one rarity less, Honey attracts mobs of one rarity less mobs.
  • Sandstorms not being able to be pulled by it might be because they aren't sentient beings. The same is valid for Bubbles.
  • Honey is the third petal to stick to the ground, with the first two being the Web (both new and Old Web as well as the old Legendary Web) and the Pollen, despite not having said ability on legacy florr.
  • The Honey petal was originally shaped as a circle (slightly larger than Pollen), but on March 6th, 2020 the developers turned it into a Hexagon, resembling a honeycomb.
    • This was likely to prevent confusion between it, Faster and Pollen, all of them looking pretty much the same on legacy florr.io.
    • The shape was changed again on 13/02/25, now having rounded corners instead of sharp ones. This was likely to avoid confusion with Wax.
  • Mobs will eventually develop immunity to Honey. This is the only petal that suffers from this. A few mobs also are completely immune to it, for example, Hornet.
  • Although it is from legacy florr, it and Uranium are tied for the first petal to aggravate all mobs. The Light Bulb also followed said mechanic. Honey is the only one out of these to not make passive or neutral mobs aggressive towards you, even if the Honey has been destroyed.
  • On legacy florr, Honey used to slow down everything it hit by 20% for 5 seconds, which included petal rotation speed. Its old description was “This is so sticky it slows down whatever it hits." Abilities and description were changed to current Honey when florr.io rereleased.
    • Only it, Fasters and 8 Yin Yangs could mess with petal rotation speed, while only Honey debuffed (decreased) it.
    • Honey used to drop from Bees and Hornets before it was changed to Bees and Bumble Bees.
  • The petal continues to spin around itself even after it has been dropped somewhere, as if it's still orbiting the player.
  • AwStormy was the first person obtained a Super Honey with crafting.
