The Mantis is a mob in florr.io. It fires a burst of 3 non-splitting pea missiles at its target(s).

Appearance

Mantis consists of a green oval with a "T" shape and two slightly-bended lines as a pattern. It has an antennae same as Hornet, only difference being larger. Also, it has 6 legs.

Stats & Behavior

Speed:  Moves at a moderate speed, it is slower than a player.

Behavior: Aggressive, will shoot pea missiles at it's targets in a similar fashion to the old florr.io Hornet. The Peas inflict an armor debuff, which lowers the amount of armor you have, and can lower the armour value below 0, effectively making you take more damage than normal. The armor debuff effect lasts for up to 30 seconds.

Strategy

The Mantis is slower than you so you can keep a distance away without any speed boosting petals, the peas it shoots are slower than normal hornet missiles so they should be easy to dodge, just be wary that 3 of them will be shot at a time. You especially don't touch as they will remove your armor and make you more vulnerable to attacks.

Alone, a single mantis isn't a threat because as mentioned above, its peas are easy to dodge. However, with 2 mantises or above, or a mantis along with a mob or many mobs, they will become potential supporter mobs, even if they accompany with lower rarity mobs. Therefore, try to focus on the mobs coming with mantises, or directly on the mantises if they have lower health. Avoid dealing with both as each map in the Jungle can spawn much more mobs each square meter than most maps, which makes you harder to dodge.

An Ultra+ Mantis should be taken seriously as the amour reduction is great, making even a tank build survive not very long when hit by it

• The Mantis is the fourth mob in florr.io to have a ranged attack, the previous being Hornet, Jellyfish, and Scorpion.
• In real life, mantises grab their prey with their front legs and kill them, which is different from florr.io where they fire peas.
