Petals are the main weapons used by all players in florr.io. All players start out with five petal slots and can gain up to 5 additional slots (adding up to 10) with the Loadout Talent. Players also have an equal number of secondary petal slots. A petal in a secondary slot can be switched with the petal in the primary slot directly above. There are currently 96 petals; however, M28, the developer, is going to add more in the future.
When colliding with Mobs, flowers and other Petals, they deal damage. Petals also receive damage from collisions, which lowers their HP. When a petal's HP is depleted, it will be destroyed temporarily, and it will reappear after a certain amount of time (the petal's cooldown time).
When swapping and equipping a new petal, the minimum reload time is 2.5 seconds. The minimum reload time can be decreased by 0.5 seconds 5 times, to a minimum of 0.0 seconds, by upgrading the Reload Talent. This rule only applies when first equipping a petal to replace another, not when reloading the equipped petal. Petals with an original reload time of 2.5 seconds or more are unaffected by this rule.
The "2.0s + 1.0s" cooldown time format means that the petal takes 2 seconds to reload, and 1 second after being reloaded to perform its special action (if it has one). If the minimum reload time is 2.5 seconds:
- The petal will take 2.5 seconds (instead of 2.0 seconds) to spawn when it is first equipped, and will take 1.0 seconds to perform its special action (e.x. heal for rose)
- When the petal is destroyed, it will go with the normal 2.0 second reload time until the petal is unequipped or swapped out.
Players can switch petals by using the number keys. Each slot corresponds to a number based on its location with the number appearing below each slot. Pressing this number switches the active petal and the secondary petal. Petals can also be switched by clicking on either or the petals that the player would like to switch. Pressing R completely switches the inventory.
All petals obtained by the player during game play will have their icons saved in their Inventory and Crafting. All petals range in Rarity, but players can craft higher Rarity petals. Some petals don't have lower rarities (e.g. Antennae starts at Rare rarity, while Basil starts at Mythic rarity).
Petals are dropped by mobs once they die. Petal drops are shared in PvE, meaning everyone can pick the drops up if they do at least 5% damage to the mob. Almost every petal can also be purchased from the Shop. You cannot steal drops from someone else, even in PvP, where drops are not shared.
Magic variants of certain normal petals can also be dropped by mobs once you have a Mana Orb equipped. They have improved stats and/or abilities compared to their base version, but they need mana to be spawned or even maintained. They are called Magic Petals.

Trivia
- A total of 102 petals can be currently found in the game.
- 30 of those petals are from legacy florr.io, while the other 52 were added ever since florr.io was revamped. However, the 30 legacy petals have some differences from their legacy states:
- The starting rarity of some petals may not match with their legacy rarity;
- Certain petals are missing, such as Heavy;
- The Unique rarity is missing;
- Rare Rose, Epic and Legendary Peas, Heaviest and Fast, Twin and Triplet were renamed to, respectively: Dahlia, Grapes, Heavy and Light;
- Multiple rarity variants of a certain petal (such as Cactus and its Epic variant) are now in the same lineage of petals (e.g. Cactus);
- Some petals are dropped by different mobs, and only of a certain rarity or above;
- Dandelion debuffs flowers by 20% for 15 seconds while stacking, and is not shootable anymore but goes farther away on offensive mode than most other petals, and receives one extra Dandelion at both the Mythic and the Ultra rarity variants;
- Heavy slows down petal rotation speed;
- Honey can be dropped to the ground, disappears after some time, attracts mobs to its location while it's on the ground, has a mob rarity limit and mobs can develop immunity to its attraction;
- Salt reflects 20% damage to flowers, 50% damage to mobs of the same rarity, (n*3) 50% damage to mobs of (n-1) rarity below it (whereas n is the number of the rarities the mob is below the petal, and 1 being the same rarity) and less damage to mobs above its own rarity;
- Stinger is now 3 petals in 1 at Mythic rarity, and not Legendary, and finally;
- Yin Yang changes the petal rotation orientation at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 Yin Yangs in one build, while increasing the petal orbit layers at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 Yin Yangs in one build (layers start at 1 with zero Yin Yangs, then 2 layers at 2, 3 at 4, 4 at 6, 5 at 8 and all 10 at 10).
- There are 55 petals starting at the Common rarity, 21 at the Unusual rarity, 8 at the Rare rarity, 2 at the Epic rarity, 4 at the Ultra rarity, 3 at the Mythic rarity and only 1 at the Legendary rarity.
- 30 of those petals are from legacy florr.io, while the other 52 were added ever since florr.io was revamped. However, the 30 legacy petals have some differences from their legacy states:
- Petals, while heavily influencing almost all of them, are directly the subject of 53 Achievements:
- The "All-seeing" Unusual Achievement, granted to you once you equip Antennae of any rarity;
- The 2 "Be gone" Achievements of Legendary and Ultra rarities, granted to you once you mark, respectively, 1 player and 100 players with Dark Mark;

- The "Digger" Unusual Achievement, granted to you once you equip Cutter of any rarity;
- The 3 "Evasive" Achievements of the Rare, Legendary and Ultra rarities, granted to you once you evade, respectively, 1k, 100k and 10m damage values with Talisman of Evasion;
- The "Gambler" Legendary Achievement, granted to you once you insert 1000 Chips of any rarity at Plinko;
- The 7 "Gear Up" Achievements of all rarities starting at Unusual, granted to you once you equip, respectively, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 10 petals of the same rarity in one build (the rarity of the petal depends on the Achievement);
- The "Go to WHERE?" Unusual Achievement, granted to you once you get marked and successfully sent to Hel by a Mark from another player;

- The "The all-seeing one" and "It was destiny" Achievements of Legendary and Ultra rarities, which, despite having different names, share almost the same completion method as if they had the same name: they are granted to you once you, respectively, craft a petal of any rarity and an Ultra Petal with Oracle;
- The "The lucky one" Legendary Achievement, granted to you once you craft 10 petals in a row without fail from Crafting;
- The "The unlucky one" Ultra Achievement, granted to you once you fail 100 petal crafts in a row without success from Crafting;
