Strategy[]

Rice is the petal with the fastest respawn, not counting petals worn on the flower like Third Eye and Disc. It has the highest DPS in the game, even surpassing Claw, but making full use of it is tricky, as you would need to keep it focused on the same target and you would also need to stay as close to the target as possible to ensure its maximum DPS (as the petal reloads so fast that it loses a significant amount of DPS from the travel distance to the orbit).

Yin Yang also can and should be used with Rice. Put one in your secondary slots and constantly switch it with another petal (which is not Yin Yang) so your rice petals hardly move from their place. This will further increase the DPS of Rice. Using lights to squish multiple rice together with Rice also boosts DPS by a lot.

Garden[]

  • The rice is useful against Centipedes. Since they spawn in groups, it can instantly respawn on the centipede many times, dealing heavy damage.
  • The player can use Heavy petals and Light/Pollen to create a wall of rice. By aiming this in a certain direction, the user can create a spot with insane DPS that mobs will have to pass through.

Desert[]

  • The wall strategy mentioned above is more effective in desert since all mobs deal damage via contact(except for the scorpion stinger attack). The user should position themselves on an edge and have the rice face outwards. Rapidly switch Yin Yangs in and out to adjust position. Ideally, a teammate will use Webs to slow down incoming mobs.
  • Just as it is useful against normal centipedes, rice is good against Desert Centipedes.

Ocean[]

  • The wall strategy can be used to follow a Starfish to quickly kill it, and it works against other mobs too. Yin Yangs should be switched to adjust position, thus this strategy requires high skill.
  • Highly useful for greeding bubbles. Super bubbles can easily be killed by using ultra+ rice.

PvP[]

Using[]

  • It's best to use these with multiple Fasters as they'll have more effect on quickly respawning.
  • The wall strategy is not useful in PvP since players can move around it, though a skilled player may be able to track the opponent by switching Yin Yangs in and out.

Against[]

  • Counter the rice with higher DPS by using Lights and Fasters.
  • Wings are also a good weapon because when you're in range, the petal can pop up and hit you faster than you can blink.
  • Aside from respawn, its stats are similar to a Basic so similar strategies apply.
  • Rice is best used with ultras and supers to get loot easily, as it is easier to aim your rice when the mob is aggroed on someone else.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of four petals to not have a visible reload after being equipped, the others being Antennae, Cutter, Disc, Relic and Third Eye.
    • This is the only one that orbits the flower with this trait.
    • It has it after 1st May update, though subtle
  • It was added alongside its opposite twin, Corn.
  • For its legacy version, the description states it has no respawn timer, it actually takes 0.04 seconds to respawn (which is just 1 frame). This is faster than any other petal that orbits you (Antennae, Cutter, and Third Eye technically have no respawn).
  • Before the December 29th 2022 update. Mythic+ Rice used to look large visually. This was referred as "fat rice" or "big rice".
  • Before the 1st May update, Rice reload used to be less than 0.1 sec (0.04 to be exact)
  • Now with full reload upgrades (50% reload reduction) Rice is almost as good as before the 1st May update (0.05 seconds compared to 0.04 seconds).
