- This page is about the normal Stinger. For the magic petal variant, see Magic Stinger.
Stinger is a legacy petal in florr.io. It has high damage, but low health and reload.
Appearance[]
A small, black, triangular shaped petal with an even darker outline. If the petal is Mythic, the Stinger will turn into 3 Stinger petals that rotate around each other. Ultra, Super and Unique Stingers have 5 stingers forming a pentagon.
With the Duplicator Talent, Mythic Stingers will have 4 Stinger petals, and Ultra, Super and Unique Stingers will have 6 Stinger petals.

Strategy[]
Stingers deal devastating damage to anything they hit. Higher rarities will one shot most enemies. However, their very long respawn keeps the DPS fairly low, except for the mythic and ultra varieties. Still, without a high durability higher levels cannot multi-hit mobs unlike other petals, meaning high level stingers have less of an edge. Their low health means that they can be destroyed very easily. High-rarity stingers have been heavily nerfed (the reload used to be 2.5s, then was nerfed to 7s and in March 2023 to 8s).
Garden[]
- Stinger's low respawn means that it struggles against hordes of enemies. However, it is perhaps the best petal at dealing with a single mob quickly. Stinger spam can take down moderate groups of mobs and is great for dealing with a single Legendary/Mythic mob.
- Pairing stingers with Fasters lowers the overall damage but increases how quickly it is dealt, making it a useful combination.
- Stingers are good against Hornets because they have high burst damage. However, be aware that the Hornet's missiles may destroy the Stingers.
- Because of this, Stinger is one of the best petals to use in high rarity zones to farm Mythic petals.
Desert[]
- Similar strategies as garden, it is great for dealing damage against a single mob or handling moderate swarms.
- It is especially useful against Sandstorms due to their high health. Stingers can kill a sandstorm before it has the potential to cause problems.
Ocean[]
- Due to their health regen, Stinger is useful against Starfish. They can one shot most of them, preventing regen.
- Having multiple stingers can counter rarer varieties that may be able to tank a hit.
- Stinger is good against Jellyfish since it can quickly kill them before they have the chance to deal too much damage.
- Stinger is good against Crabs since it only needs to land one hit to kill it or deal serious damage, making the crab less likely to dodge as they tend to do.
PvP[]
Using[]
- Since the beginning of florr, stingers have been a powerhouse in PvP. A few of them will make quick work of any flower and all players fear them. A mythic stinger deals over 24.3k damage at once, killing any player in one hit unless they have opted to spam Cacti and/or Soil, but if they decided to do that, they lack adequate damage.
- The goal of a stinger user is quite simple - land a stinger on the flower to deal lethal or near lethal damage.
- Fasters can make this easier by causing stingers to move faster, making them harder to dodge or destroy
- One of the most popular builds involves stingers and Bubbles. The stingers are placed on the opposite side of the bubbles, so when the user uses their bubbles, their stingers are thrusted into any opponent with almost no way to dodge.
- High health petals such as the Heavy and Corn can be used a shield against fragile stingers.
- Stinger users can also use these petals to shield their stingers.
- A stinger can be paired with an Iris for an inescapable combo. The stinger deals a quick hit of damage while the iris slowly deals the rest. This is an almost guaranteed kill if successful, but the attacker must land a good hit and dodge counterattacks for a few seconds.
- Hitting the player with a Dandelion beforehand slows down their healing.
Against[]
- High petal density, achieved through Light or Pollen spam, can serve as a shield against stinger attacks too.
- If a player's stingers are killed, they are left vulnerable for a few seconds. Players can take full advantage of this, attacking the stinger user before their petals recharge. Stinger users should be wary of this and be ready to flee battle if needed. Bubbles can help with fleeing.
- Salt can reflect the Stinger's very high damage back to the user.
- Note that they could be using Sponge.

Trivia[]
- Mythic Stingers with no Duplicator talent are frequently referred to as Tringers due to there being three and them forming a triangle shape. Ultra Stingers with no Duplicator talent are frequently referred to as Pingers due to there being five and them forming a pentagon shape.
- When the Duplicator talent is purchased, Tringers may be referred to as Tetringers and Pingers as Hexingers.
- The referred names uses a polygon prefix, where Tringers come from the "tri-" prefix, Tetringers come from the tetr- prefix, and the Pinger comes from the "pent-" prefix.
- In other cases, the Tetringer may also be referred as Quadringers or Quadingers.
- When the Duplicator talent is purchased, Tringers may be referred to as Tetringers and Pingers as Hexingers.
- They were originally most frequently obtained from Hornets, but this was changed on February 19, 2020, when Hornets no longer dropped Stingers (they drop Missiles now).
- The Stinger used to have the highest single-target burst damage potential of any petal that does not require certain circumstances. Now the Dice beats its burst damage with its crit hit.
- In the Legacy version of florr.io. Legendary Stingers used to have 3 Stinger petals in one.
- On January 13th, 2023, Stinger's damage was buffed due to many other mythic petals outclassing its damage.
- There is a variant of this petal called the Blood Stinger, which has three quarters the reload at the cost of dealing you some damage when you damage a mob with it.
